A Good Ole’ Reality Check

Happy Monday! I’m not quite sure that I’ve ever actually looked forward to a Monday but after this weekend, Monday is sounding rather amazing. As you may’ve noticed, I didn’t blog much last week. Once to be exact. Sometimes things are crazy and other times things are just crazier. If you are a new reader, here’s a slight overview…. We flip and renovate homes (Our Current Flip- “Project Lakehouse Flip”), I am an interior designer and blogger, we just purchased an amazing 1908 “fixer upper” that we are currently renovating for our new personal home (“Our Historic Wonderland”) and oh yea, we have two little ones. So basically insane is our middle name.
Lately we have had so much going on in so many different directions that life has been even crazier than the usual crazy. We have gotten pretty good at handling busy but when it rounds that hill into complete and total insanity we all start to lose our minds. And apparently I did just that at about 11pm on Saturday night after a super fun “mommy’s night out” dinner and painting class when on the way home I made a huge “uh-oh” with my hubby’s nice, new diesel truck. I won’t say exactly what happened but let’s just say that it was a BIG “uh-oh”. Really really big. And let’s just say that the last search on my phone is a local wrecker-towing service. That’s always right about the point where I start to re-think the level of busy that I can actually sanely handle.
On a lighter note, our busy has all been good and new and exciting things for us. Until Saturday night of course. Lots of things that I am hoping I can share with all of you soon. So when I was asked to team up with some other amazing bloggers for a “Real Life Home Tour” series, the timing could not have been any more perfect. As you know if you are a “regular” here, I try and maintain a healthy level of being open, honest and real. Here’s a great “real me” starter if you are a newer reader… “My Journey to Today”. So needless to say, sharing the current state of our home is a perfect fit for this Category 5 week. Some of our lesser/hardly ever used rooms stay relatively clean while others… not so much. So without further ado, here’s our real life home tour and a look at our Sunday…

The colors in your home are stunning, this is what my house wants to be when it grows up 🙂 I always like to get a peek into the behind the scenes of a blogger. I am a home decor blogger, still getting started but people comment that their home never looks like this. Neither does mine! I have three kids and two dogs, and I create things for my home. It takes a lot of mess to get to the pretty after!

I have loved seeing all of your pictures from this home. The colors, textures, designs, patterns…all of it is incredible, so eye catching and most of all, different than what I typically see. That is what I love the most. I can’t wait to see what you do in The Historic Wonderland. I know it will be equally fabulous.
