It’s the WEEKENDDDDD!!! Yay Yay YAY! I typed that and then realized our only plans this weekend are basically the same as what I do all week. Work on projects. LOL. At least John will be off and “home” to tackle projects alongside me :). We have the best time ever working on stuff together. Such a Godsend to have found someone with the same passions and life goals.
And speaking of John… I finally get to meet his parents next week!!! John actually hasn’t seen them since our very first date either. They live in New York and usually drive down once or twice a year to spend a week or so with John and the boys. That visiting week back in October of 2019 just so happened to be when John and I started chatting on Match so they got to play “babysitters” for our first date. But then of course came Covid the following March so their visits hit a halt. HOWEVER, they are finally getting to make the drive down and will be spending the first half of the week (Monday through Thursday) at our cabin with John and the boys (and me for two nights) and then will all be heading to my house to stay Thursday through Sunday. So excited!!!
As excited as I am, I am also nervous for more than one reason. I think that will mean I need to COOK! And with two Italians who are apparently amazing cooks at my home, I am a WEEEEE bit nervous. I feel like I am supposed to wow with some amazing Southern dishes but the extent of that for me is hashbrown casserole and sweet tea. SO maybe a pretty table setting will do? 😉 Haha I know, I know, none of that matters and I know they’re just excited to be coming down but of course this girl is going to STRESS!
Several weeks ago now I got a huge shipment of the MOST GORGEOUS DISHES EVERRRRR from Casafina and I am SO IN LOVE. So really quick… I have this crazy obsession with dishes. Really weird I know. John has started joking that he is going to have to build me a “china shed” in the backyard to store all of my dishes. I just love a pretty table setting so much and it’s always just a fun, simple way to make dinner a “special event” as a family. It became my thing shortly after my divorce as a way to start cheer myself up and make happiness out of the everyday little moments. Yep, that’s how much I love pretty dishes.
Casafina is handcrafted in Portugal by a small company of true artisans that love their craft so much they actually acquired Casafina from a United States based company in 2017. The dishes had always ben produced by the Portuguese company but they now own it as well! Their products are handmade in a very traditional producer market in a sustainable factory that focuses on sustainability not only for the product but for the packaging as well!
So here’s a peek at all of my beautiful new Casafina dishes including this Eivissa Rectangle Baker that I am OBSESSED with!!! I have been using it every time I need a casserole dish. It is STUNNING! P.S. This would make a great gift idea too!
