Well HELLO!!! Gosh it feels like way longer then a few months since I have been sitting here typing and sharing. If I have learned anything in business and in life and in blogging over the last ten years it’s to really study and lean into what serves you best over anything else. Over money, over expectations… over it all. Within reason obviously because we all have to pay the bills but I’ve been more and more on this mission to really hone in on what allows me to live more intentionally even if it means falling off the wagon on my own expectations for a bit. In this case, falling off of feeling like I have to create new content and post a certain number of times a week. I started my blog as a passion project without a clue in the world that it would turn into my career and although it has evolved into lots more avenues than just my blog, I still always want to write and share from that place of passion and love for design and travel and inspiring women. ANYWAYS, enough about that! I am back, feeling refreshed and ready with sooooo much to share! Starting with our bedroom…
As you may have seen over the years, I have changed our bedroom up QUITE a few times! Partly because that’s kind of what I do and what I love and then partly due to some mega life changes over the last few years and just wanted a good “out with the old and in with the new!” This room did however get a good bit of back to back changes though which I normally don’t really ever do. I was just SO INSPIRED coming back from Europe over the Summer and seeing so many rich colors. In particular this Airbnb we stayed in in Florence. The entire apartment was dark and it was STUNNING!!!
I came back inspired in so many ways for so many different projects in our home and in my client design work. So without wasting any time, we had our bedroom repainted! AGAIN! Lol. The color I chose is Dark Pewter by Benjamin Moore and we did flat on the walls and satin on the trim and doors. From there I chose this fun, neutral geometric rug to pair with the Portugal blue/white tile I have on order for the fireplace. Florals and geometrics are always a good mix! I threw in lots of new AW product (all linked below) and some fun textural items as well to finish out the look. I also ordered drapery but it hasn’t arrived yet so that will be a future blog post when we get those hung! Here is a peek at our bedroom BEFORE and TODAY!
