Happy Tuesday! And Happy May! And Happy… Covid-19/Coronavirus Summer??? As I know everyone around the world has been doing daily if not hourly… I have been hoping and praying each and every day that this will all somehow just GO AWAYYYYY!!! I pray that the new cases will drastically dwindle and the deaths will of course cease. Sooner than later PLEASEEEEE! Only He can make that happen and I just know that somehow and in some way it’ll happen. One of these days. I will say that here in Georgia life has really slowly but surely been returning to some sort of normalcy. A new normal I guess. Most of our restaurants and stores are open with limited seating and varied new restrictions. So far so good here in Georgia as far as I know. Praying that path in the right direction will continue so more and more states can follow suit. I know that all of you still in shelter-in-place states have just got to be going cabin fever crazy.
For the last few weeks as Georgia has been opening, we’ve been spending lots of time outdoors and on the lake. All of the little things we can do to get some fresh air and sunshine without TOO much social interaction. We’ve hung out with several close friends and Addie has had a few playdates with her bestie. John and I have eaten out several times on restaurant patios and have done a little bit of shopping here and there during our kidless time. Those little peeks back at normalcy have been soooooo nice. Not gonna lie. I know once things do get back to “normal”, we will all be the most thankful for everything we have and everything we are able to do more than ever ever before.
As I shared a couple of weeks ago, I have a contract on a new project. And I am soooooo excited. Over the years I have done quite a few full home renovations to either flip or rent. I have to say though that I am more excited about this one than I have ever been before. For starters, I am excited that I did it. I did it all on my own. As a newly-ish single woman and mom and working mom, I am proud of myself. I had never fully taken care of obtaining a mortgage until now and had never gotten utilities and insurance and all of those kinds of things fully setup on my own until now. All of the things that seemed so intimidating… I did it. With a few calls to my mom and the help of the most AMAZING Synovus mortgage agent… I did it. For another, I just really really LOVE this home. It has sooooo much potential but at the same time it doesn’t need toooooo much work. It has great bones but also updated appliances and HVAC and roof and all of those types of things. It just needs some paint and wallpaper and furnishings and a whole lot of love to become something fresh and beautiful. Well, it honestly already is really really beautiful but I guess my own kind of “WONDERLAND” beautiful. Oh and did I mention that my man and I are tackling this TOGETHER?!? Eeeeeek! Soooo excited for a new chapter in life and in business and in renovations and design. Here’s a peek at “Winnie’s Woodsy Wonderland” BEFORE! I close THIS FRIDAY so watch out for more updates coming SOON! And of course LOTS of IG stories!
