Good Morning! Sitting here two hours before this post will post 😉 finishing it up while waiting for John and our antique furniture delivery guy to start heading up with some of the pieces we purchased the other day. We were hoping that the guy delivering would somehow magically find a way to drive in closer to our apartment but we just found out that that’s not going to be the case unfortunately. So John is heading a couple of blocks down now to meet him at his truck. I will be the door holder once I get the call that they’re close :-).
To answer quite a few questions I got the other day on my IG stories about deliveries and such… it’s all very difficult and confusing here. Antibes is car-free with the exception of delivery vehicles which can still only come down certain streets that are barricaded by concrete pillars that rise and lower with access codes. The car-free feature of our town is AMAZING every second of every day except when you are trying to get anything even remotely big or heavy into your home. You can apply for an access code but we heard that it is a very long process and we would have to know specifics way way ahead of time. Not to mention the very long and very French online application.
I speak French but not that good! LOL! And then comes the question of wagons or dollys… YES, great ideas HOWEVER, the walk is honestly not even the hard part compared to the parking deck stairs and the spiral staircase of our building. Plus, we don’t have anywhere to store either of those because our place is very small. And to be honest, as crazy as it sounds, John loves any chance he can get to “workout” so he’s surprisingly always in good spirits to do the haul. Which has really only been twice now.
Today I am sharing all of the GORGEOUS and crazy AFFORDABLE new bedding I had shared I brought here for our bedroom! In “renovating” and decorating our new place, we are trying to find a happy balance between getting everything the way we want it for our own personal enjoyment, and for possibly renting it out, but then also wanting to take our time adventuring France and Italy collecting pieces over time. Doing wallpaper for our kitchen backsplash is the perfect example of that. I really want to find tile here but I know that’ll be a process so the wallpaper will give me the look I’m looking for for now, but will be easy to replace once that time comes. Having said that, packing some really beautiful, affordable Amazon pieces felt like the best fit for our bedroom for now as well. I’d love to find some beautiful French fabrics and such but that could be years from now. So, here we go! The possibly “not so temporary” temporary new look for our bedroom!
