AW Design… Adding Color, Pattern & Warmth to a Gorgeous 1940’s Home!

Happy Wednesdayyyyyy!!! Sitting up at our new… kind of, sort of, almost… maybe 50% finished enough to use… 20% finished as in COMPLETELY FINISHED new design studio. Make sense? Probably not. Looooong story short, as I have been chatting about on stories and ON THIS BLOG POST, AW Design has grown so fast that we decided to take over the Addison’s Wonderland brick & mortar event space (connected to the AW Boutique) Monday-Friday since most of our event bookings have been on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays. The goal is convert then covert the “event space” aspect of the space into a full blown wine/dessert bar! A design studio wine and dessert bar? YES, PLEASE!!!

Today I am sharing the first phase of design we have completed for one of the sweetest women I have ever “met”. She is a virtual design client out of Minnesota and OMG… us AW Design girlies are basically just dying to be besties with her. She has been sooo much fun to work with! Plus, she just keeps adding more rooms in her home to our project list which we couldn’t be more thrilled about of course!

As you will see in the “BEFORE” images, her home is beautiful and has such amazing “bones”! It was built in the 1940’s and has such unique features that were so fun to design around. Amy has several really colorful art pieces that she wanted to incorporate in the designs as well. She had chosen her wall and ceiling colors similar to that of my home so we worked our designs around that as well. She loves color and wanted us to warm up the space with patterns and texture to creating an inviting and cozy space for her family. Here’s a peek at what we’ve presented thus far!

Addison's Wonderland began in 2011 as everything that I dreamed of for my daughter's room. I wanted to create a dreamy wonderland for her full of colors, patterns and precious details. Once her room was complete, Addison's Wonderland was born.
