Earlier this year, waaay earlier this year, I made the sweetest Instagram friends. The amazing hubby and wife team behind Axel Co. sent me the cutest wooden arrows for our cabin renovation, our very first cabin renovation. Remember these?
Yep, that’s the one! I hung the other arrow on the wall opposite the dining area and it was the absolute perfect fit. Literally and stylistically. I have a special place in my heart for hard working makers and doers. I know from my years in the bedding industry how hard it is to build a product, build a brand and promote it in this crazy world of what now seems like a gazillion social media options. I think that’s why I’ve grown to love Instagram so. It’s like a little world of entrepreneurs all trying to grow a brand yet building one another up so much along the way. Okay excuse my little Instagram moment. You’d think I had stock in it or something. Dang I wish!
So now fast forward several months later and I got the sweetest gift in the mail! The cutest little handmade shadow boxes. You may remember this image I posted onto Instagram…
So cute, right?!? Now hmmm… where to hang them. I thought about putting them in our cabin but right about the same time, we decided to place it on the market so I didn’t want to add anything else to the super long list of “sold furnished” items included in that sale! So I decided they’d be the cutest touch to our guest room…
Lighting- Murray Feiss, Drapery- West Elm, Quilt & Shams- Anthropologie, Rug- Surya, Headboard & Ottoman Fabric-Fabric.com (links to similar), “New Opportunity” Pillow- Sugarboo Designs, Chevron Pillows- Target, Ombre Throw- HomeGoods, Deer Head- Home Goods, Lamps- Target, Side Tables- One King’s Lane (links to similar), Table Accessories- Home Goods/TJMaxx, Green Chair- Local Antique Store, Ikat Pillow- Candy Kirby Designs, “H” Book- Anthropologie, Red Flower Vase- HomeGoods
For months I’ve been trying to decide what to do with the side wall by the windows. It’s a little blank wall space you see right when you enter the room, or when you’re walking down the hallway or when you’re going to our powder room. See the list goes on so I wanted to add something fun! Yes, I still need to add a touch of paint to the silver screws. It’s kind of glaring at me while I type and I see the close-up below. Anyways, here’s the result! Oh and go check out Axel Co. right now. Well, once you finish reading. You won’t be sorry! They have awesome products and they’re adorable to boot! And guess what?!? They’re offering AW readers 30% off with code: WONDERLAND30. Enjoy!
XOXO, Brittany Hayes
