Campaign Dresser DIY Tutorial
I think you could consider this the first of my Winter’s big girl room reveal posts. I think. Although now that this area I’m sharing below is all styled and finished, I am dying to share more than just the dresser makeover. HOWEVER, this reveal is definitely blog worthy. Drool worthy.
Last December, Mark and I purchased a cabin in the beautiful community of Big Canoe in the North Georgia mountains. Otherwise known as “My Happy Place”. You can see our full cabin makeover HERE. With that cabin, came four Campainger dressers and four nightstands. Yes, EIGHT amazing furniture pieces in all. Although that was pretty much the only pieces even remotely keep-worthy that came with the home, they were pretty dang exciting for me. I absolutely LOVE this style and immediately had big plans for some of them. One had Winter’s name all over it. Her existing dresser was the dresser/changing table that we purchased with her crib, well actually Addison’s crib, over eight years ago. Eight years is equivalent to a century for me in terms of keeping home decor. It might as well have been considered a Hayes’ vintage piece. So I sold her former dresser and had Mark bring home the Campaigner dresser so I could get to work! For more on Winter’s room renovations thus far, click HERE.
Here’s a pretty terrible iPhone image of the dresser in the cabin pre-renovations…

The Process
I wanted something cheery, bright, fun and colorful yet keeping with the original signature Campaigner style. I chose three pastel colors that coordinated with the wallpaper in Winter’s room. I chose a high gloss lacquer type paint/finish in every color.
Base Color: Glidden White
Top Drawers: Glidden Tawny Birch
Middle Drawers: Glidden Pink Mimosa
Bottom Drawers: Glidden Lime Foam
Step One: Remove Hardware
Step Two: Lightly Sand the Entire Piece
Step Three: Clean and then Start Rolling Paint!
Step Four: Apply Two to Three Coats of Paint
Step Five: Spray Cabinet Hardware
After
How sweet did this turn out?!? I am in LOVE! Obsessed I should say. I way overuse that huh? With a little trip to HomeGoods (side table, “W” and elephant) and a few of my faves from Woodshop of Alabama (monogram) and GlamFete (tassels) this little vignette is complete! Can’t WAIT to share Winter’s full room reveal tomorrow!
XOXO, Brittany Hayes
