Happy Friday! And Happy December 1st! Writing and posting my New Year’s resolution list literally seems like last month. Not sure where the other ten months have gone! Every year seems to fly by even faster than the last and it’s kind of freaking me out. Addison turns ten next week and I can’t even handle it. She is of course beyond excited to turn double digits yet Mark and I keep saying to one another “A decade?!? How did that happen???” Sniff… Sniff…
Every year the girls and I create a Holiday craft to gift their aunts, grandparents and great grandparents. We have done everything from cute little picture and glitter filled ornaments to footprint Christmas tree canvases. I always try to come up with something that they will enjoy doing and also something the family will enjoy receiving.
For this year’s kid gifting project, I teamed up with Wal-Mart to create a high quality photo print gift that everyone is sure to love! Because who doesn’t love Wal-Mart?!? Mark joked to Addie on the way home from the mountains on Sunday that you could literally live inside of a Wal-Mart. If you had to. They have absolutely everything you need from clothing to medicine to food and even photos! Addie wasn’t too thrilled with the idea but Winnie said she could definitely live on the toy aisle. LOL!
So speaking of photos… did you know that you can still print photos? Seriously though. When is the last time you walked into a store to pick up photo prints? For me it has literally been this one time of year and only on the years the gifts have incorporated prints. Addison reminded me how not so often I print photos when we walked into the Wal-Mart Photo Center Wednesday to pick up our 1-hour prints. She asked what we were doing and then said “doesn’t Daddy have a printer at work?” I then proceeded to explain to her that it isn’t the same and that Wal-Mart photos are actually high quality photos printed on photo paper. So my new life goal immediately became printing the last five years of Winter’s life and actually making a baby album. Yes, mom of the year hasn’t even started one for her. Oops!
So yes, Wal-Mart can print high quality prints, at their great low price point and have them ready in an hour. On Monday afternoon, I did pictures of the girls and then let them help me pick out their favorites. They both got a kick out of the Winter outtakes…

After we decided on four images, I sipped my coffee and ordered the high quality 5×7 prints from the privacy of our festive living room…

One hour later, we popped by our local Wal-Mart, picked up our prints that turned out AMAZING and some stuff to make chili that evening and headed home to set up our craft…
For this year’s craft I decided to let them paint and glitter these beautiful wood carved frames to glue on top of plain white frames I found at Wal-Mart. Needless to say with paint and glitter involved, they had a blast…
And here are the finished Wal-Mart photo print crafts the girls are SOOO excited to give for Christmas…
And here are more fabulous photo gifts available at Wal-Mart…
