Happy Weekend friends!!! Literally feels like yesterday Addie and I were having a mommy/daughter Fall break and it’s Friday again! And November is next week? What is happening?!?! The girlies and I don’t have too many plans this weekend so that’ll be a welcome break from the go-go-go of life these days. Abigail and I have also had a bit of a two week lull from the crazy-crazy-crazy we’ve had work-wise since about March so that’s been AMAZING as well. And then there’s next Friday which will start all of my Christmas content. Bring on the tupperware bins!!! LOLOL. No really though, we are starting next Friday to deck the halls of my home for Christmas! I have lots of blog content for the Holidays as well as a local Christmas tour of homes to take part in as well! So get ready for lots and lots of festive ideas!
Today I partnered with Emerge Surfacescapes to share THE EASIEST , most transformative and most beautiful DIY project we completed inside Addison’s Wonderland! Seven months ago now, I signed on the dotted line on a contract for two historic commercial spaces in downtown Monroe, GA. We had originally planned on creating a boutique store (which we did) on one side and then a wine/craft beer bar on the connecting side. However, my life took some woah mega drastic hits shortly thereafter so I was kind of at a loss on what to do moving forward. After a lot of prayers and brainstorming and future planning, I decided to create the same look I would love for a possible future wine/craft beer bar but rent it simply as an event space for now. That way I could make money on the location now but then have more time to research and plan the logistics of that type of bar. Whew! So in a nutshell, I sought to create a wonderland of an event space! A place people would want to gather and celebrate birthday, parties, showers and all the things!
On the event space side of Addison’s Wonderland, the 1,500 square foot space has a LOT of wall space. With a very long, narrow footprint, the space needed designated nooks for the cozy, welcoming look I was going for. I wanted to use several different wallpapers to create several nooks and wanted a way to finish off each wallpaper section. Emerge Surfacescapes had reached out to collaborate and I thought it would be the perfect way to get the look I was hoping for with a beautiful touch of texture that I always love adding to my designs. We actually used some on the boutique side of the store too! For the event space side, I chose the Whitewash color and on the boutique side I chose Rustic Natural. And it turned out GORGEOUS! The best part was that it was SO easy! It is literally peel off tape that holds like glue and you can cut it with an Exacto knife or even heavy duty scissors! It was truly SOOOO easy! Here’s a peek at the process…
