Happy Monday! Wow what a beautiful Georgia weekend! I actually kind of held true to my promise and didn’t do too much housework over the weekend. Friday evening we visited friends who just built a beautiful new home and then Mark had a softball game. Saturday we flitted around town a little bit and ran some errands and then had my high school bestie and her sweet family over for dinner. And then Sunday was church and then brunch in Athens with friends at the cutest place called 5 Bar. If you are local, it’s a must! Okay, so if you’re wondering what “flitted” means, some of my friends swear I made this word up. Actually Mark says my mom, my sister and I did but y’all have totally heard that before right?!? It’s like shopping or running errands with no definite plan. Sorry, just had to clear that up.
So that about sums up our weekend and then my week will be super short because Wednesday morning I am headed to Naples, Florida to spend the week and weekend with four amazing blogger friends who I’ve been blessed to connect with along the way. I swear it will be like a big high school sleepover where we stay up all night chatting. Except this time it won’t be about friends and boys. It will be about Pantone colors, hashtags and Pinterest baords. Yep, we are total dorks. In all seriousness, I have had the best time building friendships with the sweetest ladies all over the country with whom I have so much in common. I don’t have too many close friends who are super into home decor and renovation talk so it’s always fun to find others who are in my same crazy boat.
Today I am sharing the one corner of our playroom makeover that I did not share on Friday! When we purchased our current home, we had a fifth bedroom upstairs that looked like this…
And as with any bedroom, it had a closet. But we didn’t need that closet so I thought, hmmm… do I throw toys in there or get creative and find another use for this space? Well, I got creative and decided to design a little craft center for our eldest daughter Addison and needless to say, she LOVES IT! We simply removed the doors, patched the holes from the hinges and voila! So here’s what their playroom looks like today…
