Good Morning!!! Whew, happy to be back to normal and back to work! Last week I chatted with you guys some about my uterine ablation surgery which was last Thursday. All went well and I will most definitely be telling you all of the lovely details very soon. I am waiting just a bit to really be able and see my initial results before I give you guys my honest opinion. I had soooo many of you message me on IG contemplating the procedure. Mine was for battling my anemia so I am definitely praying for great results as well as increased and STABLE iron levels in the near future! I have to admit that although surgery is never fun, I sure enjoyed sleeping in several days last week and over the weekend. Four days in a row to be exact. Almost worth the surgery all by itself! Hehe. Kidding kidding.
Today I am FINALLLLLY sharing the full tour of our completed garage apartment. We’ve had it about 99.9% complete since May but with our hands in one hundred and twenty five other projects, those last few things kind of got put on the back burner for a while. Or like five months. Oops! Nonetheless it is now completely complete and also ready to rent! Yes, this cute little loft style space on the second level of our garage is available to rent on airbnb!
Before I get going on all of the juicy details, let me first share the HUGE ShopBop End of the Season SALE…
Before I share the grand reveal, I want to share details on two of the best features in this space as well as two of the most fabulous companies I had the opportunity to work with! First, let’s chat FLOORING… As with almost every square inch of flooring inside our home, our garage apartment was also done in yet another gorgeous hardwood option from Shaw Floors. I wanted something a little different than the whitewashed options I chose for our main home so I went with their Castlewood Oak in Armory for a darker, richer feel inside this light and bright space. Next up, WALLPAPER… You guys know that a true Addison’s Wonderland space is never complete without a beautiful bold pattern so for this space I chose this stunning Arabian Nights Wallpaper By The Pattern Collective. It was the perfect pattern, color and scale for the feature wall in our loft style space and I LOVE how it turned out!
As far as everything else inside this fun little loft style space, I wanted to create a light and airy yet whimsical and colorful feel for those staying a night or two. With the exception of the downstairs bathroom, it is all one big open space so it needed a cohesive feel. I chose to paint the entire space my favorite warm white… Alabaster by Sherwin Williams with some fun pops of Wythe Blue by Benjamin Moore on window trim and the bedroom walls. I love that the color pops against both wallpapers in this space. I then filled our little mini-house with fun touches of rattan and fun, fringy textures to complete the space and make it feel like home. Here’s a little peek at our newest rental space!
P.S. This rental space can be accessed from my blog home page anytime under the “Our Rentals” link!
