Hotel Chic Guest Room Reveal
Let’s take a look at it before…
Lovely huh? The previous owners of our home really enjoyed “Autumn/Fall” color schemes apparently. Our entire house was dark green, red and pumpkin. In designing this room, my vision was a “Hotel Chic” space. I love the juxtoposition between the feminine and masculine in design. I think that combination alone creates a balance that can take a space from grandma’s floral kitchen to updated chic. In this space, the gold wallpaper and floral bedding are offset by the gray/navy headboard and black ceiling. So here’s a list of everything in this space and then a tour of our guest room today!

My favorite christmas tradition started with my mom purchasing christmas ornaments for my sister and i befor we were born. Each year we get an ornament that symbolizes something that happened that year. An airplane the year i went skydiving, a car the year i got my license, a mini/updater time the year is the new millineum, the crunch displaying his new heart the teaser my nice had a heart transplant…the tradition continues each year as we open the gift to see how the year will be memorialized, and as we go down memory lane while we unwrap each ornament to put the on the tree.

My favorite tradition is going to Christmas Eve church service. Even though I love going to church every week, there is a different reverence in the Christmas service. There is complete peace and a sense of renewal that comes from worshipping and celebrating the birth of Christ. It is my very favorite thing. Merry Christmas!!

Every year we all gather and go see Christmas lights!! We have been doing it for 8 years now!!!
Love this room!
My favorite tradition is one that we started with our own little family. Getting the kids in pjs, loading them in the car, heading to a gas station for candy, snacks and drinks. Then we drive through subdivisions looking at lights on houses and rating them on a scale of 1-10.

My favorite Christmas tradition is going the day after Thanksgiving to pick out our Christmas tree at farmers seed and feed here in Americus, Georgia. The whole family goes and each of us pick out our tree out! Great memories!!! I absolutely love your home!!! Please come to Americus and do mine!
My favorite Christmas tradition is taking a photo with my brother in the reflection of the big shiny ornaments!
Andrea Elkins says
Our family favorite tradition every year is when we go with a few of our family/friends from church and we bring food, blankets to our local community park for the homeless at Christmas time. We enjoy worship music and the joy and gratefulness it brings to some of the people’s faces makes it a great time. Our family has been doing this for years and this is something we look forward to doing every year to give back to our community.

My favorite tradition is having all of my siblings over for breakfast on Christmas Eve morning. We lost our Dad when we were young, so taking time to be together and remember is so very important!
McKenzie Berquam says
My favorite tradition would be the Berquam Family Christmas that we host every year right after December 25. This year there will be an upwards of about 70 people in our house, and most of you might think that is unpleasant, but it is actually a very good time. A lot of my cousins are considered some of my best friends and I love the fact that I can be so close to them all. It sure makes the scavenger hunt fun as well!
My fav Christmas tradition would be my grown children taking a picture in their silly hats that I buy them each year! Beautiful room, btw!

I love this time of the year. Since my husband and I have only been married 6 years, four children later… we are starting our own family Christmas tradition. One in specific : our family has two sponsor cchildren, one from Uganda and one from Thailand.. each year the children buy them a gift. Last year it was a goat and newborn care package. Its really neat to receive a letter from them thanking us for the goat! Same world but so different. Thanks for letting me share 🙂 Merry Christmas! -MOLLY

Decorating the tree with those special ornaments every year. Remembering where we got them, what year they symbolize. Now that both of my parents are gone – we have their very special ornaments too. My Mama was good about putting a note in the wrapping about the year they traveled to this place or that and picked up an ornament. They traveled extensively together, both in the US and outside, and since Christmas was Mama’s favorite Holiday – we have had a lot of memories to unwrap and a tear or two to shed.
I need that quilt and it no longer exists :(:( gorgeous room!

Every year we cut off the stump of our Christmas tree and paint it according to what our year was about!
Meagan R says
My favorite Christmas tradition growing up was the scavenger hunt we had to go on for the “big” gift every year. It was always the last gift and most exciting. I think our parents really enjoyed our excitement those special Christmas mornings together as a family.
My family typically opens gifts on Christmas Eve with homemade apple cider and then we watch Sesame Street Christmas Eve no matter how old we get it is tradition!!
I actually have 2! First, buying gifts for children who are less fortunate with my family, in the days leading up to Christmas. Second, for Christmas Eve dinner I make everyone’s favorite dish. So we usually have a smorgasbord of food! Thanks again for the chance to win!

i have so many favorite traditions, from baking cookies to decorating the Christmas tree. But I think my favorite is Christmas Eve getting together with the whole family, eating, drinking and anticipating the excitement of the next day
Our family loves to pile in the car and drive around neighborhoods looking at Christmas lights! We can bring VIPs of hot chocolate and put Christmas music on the radio and it’s one of our girls favorite activities!
My favorite tradition is decorating the tree with my family. So many memories in those ornaments – I love to hang each one with care and recall its special meaning.
Letting my girls pick out a new ornament every year so they will have a “set” when they move out and baking Christmas goodies with my girls.
Pulling out all the decor. Love it!

My favorite Christmas tradition was Christmas Eve we would go all over town looking at Cheistmas lights and when we got home we got to open 1 gift! Loved opening 1 gift on Christmas Eve!
My favorite tradition is taking my kids to see the Christmas light displays. The wonder in their eyes just brings everything to life.

My favorite Christmas tradition is staying in our pajamas and robes all day on Christmas Day watching A Chritmas Story over and over while our kids play with their gifts!
Putting our tree up in jammies with hot chocolate, Christmas music playing in the background. Even our two year old helped this year, only 2 broken ornaments 😉

My favorite tradition is baking cookies with the kids. Sometimes it is a pain, and they mail an unbelievable mess, but they are always proud of the ones they helped make.
Alana McArthur says
Our favorite thing to do each year is participate in the Operation Christmas Child project. We always get a few shoeboxes from church and me and the kids go to Target and find fun treasures to fill the boxes up with. It’s always fun watching them enjoy giving to others.
Im a traditionaholic, so I have several that I love, but my very favorites are choosing gifts we are going to give Christ for His birthday this year (such as being nicer to our siblings, serving others more, reading scriptures more regularly, etc.) and opening Christmas Eve pajamas.
Dusti Powell says
We have many but my favorite that we started was dad holding up the kids to put on the tree topper. We started this with our fist daughter and the tradition has carried on now four kids later. Our oldest is now 19 and dad still does this with her. Every year! Although now she has to sit on his shoulders! Lol! Its so fun 🙂
Tina B says
We have a lot of fun and silly traditions but my favorite is a vintage gift box! It started with my stepmom and her sisters and my Aunt gifted a terrible gift in this beautiful gift box. It has become a family tradition that whoever got a gift in it the year before (usually something silly like a tacky Christmas sweatshirt (yes I said sweatshirt! Haha)) holds onto it until the next Christmas and gives someone new their gift in the box. If you see you got “THE box” you know you’ve got something silly and it’s finally your turn to pick the next lucky family member!
Morgan Graham says
On Christmas Eve, my dads family gets together. We eat, visit, and play games! I always looks forward to it, because it’s not very often our whole family gets together! Afterwards we have Christmas at my parents house!
Wow, you did a beautiful job on this room! I love the color scheme and wallpaper and just cohesiveness of the look. In also looking at the tour of your home I’m just thrilled to see all of the color you use, just stunning!
My favorite Christmas tradition is putting on the ornaments with my family. I come from a family of seven and from a mom who takes great pride in our ornaments we make at school. What makes it so special is the finishing product of seeing how far each of kids have come over the years in our artwork and how we have changed. I also really enjoy the time we spend together as family putting up all the ornaments even the bickering over who gets to put what where is all cherished in this once a year tradition for only about an hour but means more to me than anything in the whole world.
The wallpaper from anthropolgie? What’s the name of it? Please! Thanks

Petal Pusher I think!
I love the quilt at the end of the bed! It’s such a beautiful pop of color! Where can I find it!?
