Happy Sunday! Sitting here this Sunday evening on a plane headed to Amsterdam for a miserably long layover flight to Nice, France while my hubby sits next to me watching the Cowboys playoff game that he just paid $30 to stream. Can we get a refund since it was THAT BAD?!? 😉 Hehe kidding kidding. As you may have seen on social, John and I are headed to Antibes, France… Nice is just our fly-in. Thankfully it is a very short and sweet twenty minute Uber ride from the airport to our new little home away from home. Although we stayed in our new place for a few nights right after we closed on it back in October, for some reason this feels like our first real visit. Maybe because last time we had to stay at an Airbnb for a few nights leading up to closing whereas this time we fly in and head straight there which will be nice.
Needless to say if you “know me”, you know that I am dyinggggg to get to designing and decorating our new home once again. I have been Pin’ing away lately! You can see my “France Home” board and follow me over there LINKED RIGHT HERE. As I shared on here when I posted all about our overseas purchase, our place is very very very small. It was a sacrifice of location but a very worthwhile sacrifice to John and I both. Property can be crazy affordable in some rural areas of France or it can be crazy expensive in other areas like where we are in the French Riviera. However, you just cannot beat being able to walk out your door into the heart of the city with fresh markets steps away, the Mediterranean beaches literally three blocks down the cobblestone streets and the most picturesque views around every corner. It makes a tiny flat feel so much bigger when everything is just right outside your door. I say all of that to say that this design adventure will be a bit different than most that I’ve done. I want it to have that beautifully cluttered European style, particularly in the kitchen, but it’ll also be a space saving, organizational challenge. As always, I want lots of color which will also be a wee bit more difficult since most everything is one open space. I do genuinely love a challenge though! I hope you will follow along over on IG stories starting tomorrow as we get to work shopping and planning.
Today I am sharing some little peeks around our home as I have tried to create a little warmth post- Holiday decor take down. The house always feel so cold and empty after the festive touches are gone so I’ve been trying to find little things that add a touch of magic back. I always feel like lots of patterns and cozy textures make the Winter months seem less blah as well as lots of candles to replace the Holiday lights. Here are a few new things I love…
