Happy Saturday friends!!! I am riding solo this weekend so before I head out on a girl’s night I wanted to pop in and share a really big update on my design for Invitation Homes’ Make It Home Show House in Atlanta! Invitation Homes is the premier home leasing company and can be found in 17 markets across the U.S.. I am SO honored to have been chosen as a designer among so many incredible talents. I cannot WAIT to share the final reveal with y’all in the next few weeks!
As you may have seen or heard or guessed through my blog and Instagram Stories over the last month or so, life has been a little rough. To say the very very least. My life quite literally turned upside down in a matter of minutes and I have found myself somewhere I never ever thought I would be. Somewhere I have fought for years to avoid but in a place that I am FINALLY mentally and emotionally strong enough to face. God’s work in my life over the last six years and in particular the last few months in preparing me for these moments has been quite literally divine. Although every day is a struggle in thinking about what could’ve/would’ve/”should’ve” been, I know without a shadow of a doubt that God has a plan and has had a path for me for so long now that He is finally ready to lead me down. And I am READY. In the strangest way, I am so incredibly happy. Happier deep deep down than I have been in a really long time. I feel alive and free and worthy and proud. I promise I will share more soon but in the meantime, your sweet words and thoughts and prayers mean THE WORLD.
Today I am sharing my full design board for my space in the Invitation Homes’ Make It Home Show House! I was given the formal living room and I am soooo excited about the plan and our progress. This project has been SUCH a huge escape for me and I am so thankful for this opportunity. I almost turned it down since it fell so close to our European Summer travels but I felt this inner pull to say yes and I am soooo glad I did! Abigail and I have been hard at work planning and designing and working our booties off on this space for the last two weeks. And we have had a BLAST! SO many laughs and SO much girl power getting it all done just the two of us. Here is a peek at my design board and then a peek at the progress!

IN PROGRESS…
First, a big HUGE THANK YOU to Urban Walls for this GORGEOUS removable wallpaper mural. I selected this one for the fun, abstract vibe and the beautiful ombre colors. This was my very first time installing removable wallpaper but I have to say that it was MUCH easier and MUCH quicker than I anticipated! We thought it would take two days and it took maybe two hours! We first laid out all of the strips to determine the full layout…
Next, we made sure the left wall was perfectly level and we lined up the first piece along the wall. Since the paper was a bit longer than the wall, we found it best to leave a bit extra above and below the molding. I started pressing the paper at the top and Abigail would hold it out while I slowly scraped it down with a scraper with a foam type end to keep from damaging the wallpaper…
Once all pieces were hung, we made sure the top and bottom of each piece was tucked firmly into the molding and then I cut across with an Exacto knife…

Quick Design Tip…
I have chatted about this once before but I LOVE using the “Layout” app on my iPhone to quickly visualize what products may all look like together in a s space. Here is an example from when I was rug shopping…
