My Chic and Colorful Office Reveal

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  Ours somehow went from almost no plans to jam packed full so quickly!  I was like oh yay, I will FINALLY have time to decorate our Christmas tree!  Which by the way, is still sitting in our living room without a single ornament or strand of garland.  I am a major slacker this year.  What the heck?!?  I keep blaming it on the fact that we are moving but in reality, we aren’t moving for at least another three months so that excuse is completely invalid.  Shhh don’t tell anyone though.  That’s my excuse and I am sticking to it.

Today I am re-visiting my chic and colorful office renovation and giving you an update!   I first shared my “Office Reveal of the Century” back in August.  Hopefully you’ve all recovered from the color shock of that post.  It is probably one of the most AW style rooms I’ve ever done.  Print, pattern and color to the max!  Just like I like it!  It was about 99.5% complete at that time.  And then in September I shared the addition of a cute little hanging swing in the post “Just Hanging Out”.  Now it is finally all finished. I’ve rearranged a bit and added some fun art pieces as well.  When I think about selling and moving I had to admit that this is the first room I usually get sad about leaving behind.  I have always wanted a fun, chic office space and this is pretty much everything I have ever dreamed of.  It’s fun, whimsical, bright and always gets my creative juices flowing.  I recently did a fun little interview for an office feature and here’s a peek at that. I will be sharing the full feature and interview soon!

  • Describe your office space:  My office is my own little creative wonderland.  As a blogger and designer, this space inspires me to be creative, to think outside the box and to be truly unique.  I love that my two little girls also have a fun space to be artistic and be inspired to think and create to their fullest potential .
  • Where did the inspiration for your office design come from?  The inspiration ultimately came from my obsession with combining colors and prints.  I love to test my design abilities to the max and see how far I can go in creating a wonderland of a space.  The initial inspiration came from my desire to have a striped ceiling somewhere in our home.  Next I fell in love with the floral wallpaper and the design just fell into place from there.
  • What is your favorite part/design of your office design space and why?  My absolute favorite office feature is the rolling ladder.  I love that it adds a touch of whimsy and as well as somewhat of a rustic touch.  And it doesn’t hurt that my hubby made it for me!

Your room reveals are my favorite because they inspire me to be bold and decorate my home with my taste, instead of with what is trendy on pinterest.
I’d like to continue to see room reveals in 2016 (can’t wait to see the new house!) and would LOVE to get tips on how you blend everything so well, or really any tips because I need all the help I can get with interior designs haha.

I would love to see you post more ideas for organizational projects ! As moms we all know that with kids, its near impossible for the house to look perfect all the time ! lol – real life is how you live in the space you created everyday. It would be so helpful to have simple beautiful storage options to put the clutter away and simplify things to be able to spend more time making memories with the kids, instead of always cleaning up after them! lol

Oh my goodness I love looking through everything you do but this post really gave me happy bumps! I run two businesses of my own, one semi-finalist for SharkTank with and the other a fabulous age defying skincare business. I try so hard to make my office fun and not a traditional office space but it’s nothing like yours! How fun! My office is part of our living room because I hate being separated in another room when I’m working on things. So I always struggle with keeping all the paperwork organized. I try really hard since people can see my office but it’s tough. I guess I would like to see more beautiful, non traditional organizational decor ideas. Thank you so much for making me smile every time I see your posts on Instagram! Have a fabulous week!

Have you posted your Rolling Ladder and Bookshelves DIY’s yet? I know that I asked back on your original post in August but haven’t seen them on the blog yet. Have I missed them?

We are hoping to do something similar in both our living room and in my office in our new house and I’ve been hoping that your DIY steps might help make our construction project easier. Can’t wait to see the post, because I love your office look so much!

As I always say, the only journeys and experiences As I always say, the only journeys and experiences I can… and do… share are that of my own. And today it’s last week’s journey of my explant, lift and recovery. As someone who was “born” with big boobs, had implants to fill what I’d lost to weight loss and nursing to now having explanted to a much smaller size, I’ve been happy with every step along the way. It’s all been what I had or felt I needed or wanted at each stage of life and I’m not one to ever look back and have regrets. It’s just that at this stage of life, I decided the next step for me was to shed some chest. And kind of a lot of it. From a size 32G to a yet to be fully determined 32B-C! To be super honest, the pondering and deciding was by the far the longest and hardest part. With no direct reason for doing so (thankfully)… rather a combination of them from possible health issues 🤞🏻 associated with my implants to the usual back/shoulder pain to just a growing desire to get them out, I’ve felt a bit indecisive and very nervous. But last week I finally did it and I’m so happy I did! Women have so many worries and pressures and insecurities so if this has been on your pondering list as well, I’m just here to tell you that it wasn’t that bad. Any body change takes some getting used to but not gonna lie, shedding that top heavy feeling has been rather fabulous. And the cute little tops and bras I can now wear feel like icing on the cake! So from your always raw and honest IG bestie, thank y’all so much for following along and for all of the love and well wishes on stories. Means the WORLD 🫶🏻
Forget drenching your hands with straight acetone… and the hour and a half SNS process… try this and you’ll never go back! Yep, it’s the “old school” tips method but with your own nails. Takes so much less time and although still not exactly CLEAN, it’s way better than an acetone hand bath every two weeks. Plus, they’re actually much smoother too!
