Hi friends! Abigail and I are attending the Better Homes & Gardens StyleMaker Event in New York City today so I am writing this post several days in advance. New York City in September is my absolute FAVE! Just hoping the weather ends up being as fabulous as it has been in years past. For some reason thinking about this upcoming trip to BHG StyleMaker had me thinking about how much has changed over this last year. At first thought, the last StyleMaker event, exactly one year ago now, kind of seems like maybe two months ago yet another part of me remembers how much has happened these last twelve months making it literally seem like a lifetime ago. Although I would have never guessed or maybe hoped for what has happened “on paper”, those closest to me know that the real life reality of what has happened was a blessing in disguise. Truly. As hard as that may be to put into writing, I have never felt more alive and free and at peace and hopeful for the future. And I feel like the universe must agree. Either that or it just feels really sorry for me (LOL) because amazing opportunities and blessings in my personal life seemed to start piling up once the dust settled. And most of those opportunities and blessings are things I either cannot share just yet or am not quite ready to share just yet so that’s why I have been a wee bit quiet on the social media side of my blog world. Soon though SOON! So Cheers to 2020! Hehe, I know we are still three months away but can it just get here already?!?
Today I am sharing a little playroom update! I always say playroom but it probably looks a little bit more like a kid’s living room. The girls do have a big toy basket shelf that I rarely photograph on the other side of the room along with a play kitchen and such but this side always photographs the prettiest ;-). Earlier this year I had a custom bookcase built on the right side of the fireplace to store Addison’s 34,689 books and had a TV hung over the fireplace. Although in all honesty the girls very rarely watch it. They have always preferred to play outside, have friends over, read books or play with toys. I guess they just got used to not having one for so long that they figured out how to keep themselves occupied otherwise. I am certainly not complaining!
Sometimes changing up the look and styling of a space can be as easy as a few new throw pillows! If you checked out my storage closet you would think I have a serious throw pillow addiction. I mean, I probably do but ya know… it’s a designer thing. Or maybe a girl thing! And the easiest way to change up a space! I found soooo many cute pillows and throw blankets and poufs at World Market that I decided to just change them all out. And I LOVE IT! Here is a peek at the new look…
