Our Breakfast Room Decor Reveal

Happy Saturday!  Our breakfast room… is it a room?  A space between rooms?  A thoroughfare between our kitchen and living room?  I think this is what has befuddled me in designing this space.  And in posting it as well.  It lacks walls and a defined area which makes it extra tricky in designing.  Take a peek at it before…

BEFORE

Kitchen Before Kitchen Before 2

For more on our Kitchen Renovation, READ “Our White on White Kitchen Reveal”

THE PROCESS

First up in our entire home renovation was PAINT!  I chose Ponder by Sherwin Williams for the walls and you can read more on that choice HERE.   It’s a tricky gray so it’s worth an article read before you go grab a can.  I promise… you will thank me.

So how do I design a space?  Well, for starters I ALWAYS begin with what I love.  And I fell in love with this rug!  In creating a whimsical, colorful and COHESIVE home, carrying key elements from room to room is crucial.  In our home, dark teal (Really Teal by Sherwin Williams) is the defining element that brings it allll together.  So once I saw this teal rug, I had to have it.  From there, I added my signature pop of color and pattern with the end chairs and roman shades.  It’s a bright, airy and fun space where we gather every morning, noon and night as a family.  It’s chic and whimsical yet every bit as functional too.  And yes, when my kiddos eat Spaghetti-O’s, they don’t sit at the end chairs!

I like to see the before and after shots of your house flipping! I also like to see the details of your projects and how exactly you accomplished them! Mostly the paint and wallpaper items.

I love seeing how you’ve made a house completely a home by renovating and adding your special style! It’s very encouraging to me, being a first time home buyer only a couple of months ago! Love all of the pops of color you incorporate throughout your home and also that you share with us where you get a lot of your decor! 🙂

Love the before and after! I love seeing the diamond in the rough revealed. In future posts, I’d love to see more of the process. Sometimes it’s intimidating to start a project, so how do you tackle a whole room? Do you paint and makeover things yourself? Is it a family affair? Or do you have a trusted team you go to? I discovered your blog through Instagram and I love how you can tell a whole story and evoke a feeling through pictures. What you do is an art, can’t wait for inspirational new posts and blogs!

The most satisfying project EVERRRR 💗 #ad When The most satisfying project EVERRRR 💗 #ad When I opened the girl’s “art closet” last week to find a piece of luggage, I think the entire closet almost came tumbling down on top of me 🤦🏻‍♀️ With school starting next week, rather than imploding, I decided to get my girlies to help with a few organizational projects with the help of the CUTEST new Home Edit organizational finds at @walmart Winnie and I got to work yesterday and I think I’ve now peeked inside the completed closet no less than ten times already to relish in the beauty of the labeled bins 😉 Oh and I also detailed sizes for each bin in this video to visually help you with all of the online options.
