Happy Friday! Y’all know I have to say it… SEVEN DAYS!!! Yep, one week from today we will be tying the knot. It’s been a whirlwind to say the very least. The best kind of whirlwind. John said last night that our relationship has been magical thus far and I would absolutely agree. Like I always say, I think there’s just something magical about the union of two people who’ve been through a lot and are just so dang thankful for one another.
Speaking of seven more days, we actually only have THREE until we all head out to the West Coast for our big day. THREE DAYS!!! I’ve been asked quite a few times now why we chose California. Nothing too incredibly amazing or meaningful to share as far as reasoning. I guess it all started when I was looking for somewhere for the girlies and I to go and have a little “mini” Summer adventure like we typically do overseas. They’d never been to California and I thought they’d love it plus it would make a great road trip. At that time, we’d planned a backyard wedding sometime in July after we returned from our “mini adventure”. July in Georgia. I’ve lived here my whole life so I am not quite sure why I ever thought that would be a good idea! The heat… the humidity… THE BUGS!!! So once I came to my senses, we started chatting about possibly getting married while on our “Summer adventure” and making it a “six of us” adventure rather than just the girlies and I. We started with the idea of getting hitched in Napa and then road tripping down the coast. My mom wanted to join since she always does at some point along our Summer trips and she kept gushing about Carmel by the Sea. John and I have never been but we are always up for something new so Carmel it was! Carmel it is!
So when it came time to think about packing… for the wedding and honeymoon and everything to come… I decided to officially get John out of “that bachelor” life with his unraveling duffel bag and non-existent toiletry bag with round two of Father’s Day gifts… the travel edition!!! I had already gotten him a personalized wallet, whiskey decanter and “Palazzo” etched glasses but I figured this next gifting was long overdue. I also decided to include the boys too since the girlies and I all have nice luggage as well. I found this Slate Blue hard luggage for John that I thought was really nice and sleek and then this funky, strappy carry-on for each of the boys. And since y’all know I am a “carry-on ONLY” girl, I also got John an UnderSeater which I SWEAR BY! It holds so much and since it fits under the seat in front of you, it counts as your personal item so you can also have a full carry-on suitcase! I have been raving about these for a few years now.
