Wallpaper Mural / Ab’s Jeans / Her Sweater
I know… I know… almost three months later BUT I feel like the mural is even prettier now! 😉 This past October I checked off my biggest, and kind of honestly “last”, big dream… John and I purchased a home in the South of France. It’s a little apartment/flat (can’t find a word I like LOL) in the heart of my favorite city in all of the French Riviera. It’s the most beautiful oceanside town of Antibes, France. Maybe about eight years ago now, the girls and I stayed in Antibes during one of our big European Summer adventures and I absolutely fell in love with every single thing about the town. I won’t bore you all with my doting once again but you can read lots lots more about our home, the town and the overseas buying process HERE.
And quite literally the day we closed in October we started “renovating”! I say renovating with quotations because our entire 17th century building was just completely renovated but you know me… I have to add my own little flair of course. In fact so much so that we packed this wallpaper mural in our suitcase for our home closing visit. This mural by Belarte Studio is so crazy beautiful and perfect for our new place that I knew when I saw it that I had to have it even if that meant it took up half of John’s suitcase. Sweet hubby! 😉 Ab and her fiance Jess joined us since Ab and I were headed to France directly from our Greece Girl’s trip so it was another girl’s wallpapering adventure… this time just a wee bit outside of Georgia!
Here’s a peek at our bedroom before we got started…

The Adventure…
Tackling any project abroad is an adventure plus add on the fact that Antibes is car-free and everything we buy and do has to be walked all the way from the store to our place… which is going to get really interesting when we head back next Sunday and start to renovate our kitchen! Insert hand on head emoji 😉
We found all of our supplies just inside what they call “new town” Antibes at a local little hardware store that’s just a couple of blocks away…

The next new adventure was the “wallpaper paste” and applicator. Rather than a big jug of paste, they use a powder that you mix in a bucket with water and a large brush rather than a paint roller to apply. It was quite interesting, challenging and messy but by about the end we got the hang of it.
After!
And here’s a look at how it turned out! Sharing more of my decor plans and links for this space below…
