Our Serena & Lily Front Porch Double Hanging Rattan Chair Review…

Good morning! Happy Day after Independence Day! Hope you all enjoyed the Holiday weekend. We spent it rather relaxed which was nice. Friday into Saturday we worked on our newest cabin project, Saturday evening we did a little early 4th celebration with some of John’s friends in his “old stomping ground” before he moved here and then yesterday we did a whole lot of nothing! It was sooooo wonderful to have zero plans, zero housework that HAD to be done and zero work for the day. We took a nap, played board games and cooked in. Although I LOVE celebrating July 4th and all things America, fingers crossed that next year we will be back to our end of May to early July Summer adventuring!!!

Today I am back from a two week blog break from all things wedding to share a little “review” on our Serena & Lily Double Hanging Rattan Chair! I’ve been asked A TON over the years how we like our swing… how it’s held up… do we actually use it… so today I am here to answer them all!

Four years ago now in May 2017, our Serena & Lily Double Hanging Rattan Chair made it’s debut on our newly renovated 1908 front porch…

I LOVE a good “Southern” front porch. I feel like for whatever reason, particularly in small towns like ours, front porches are where it’s at! On any given day, you can drive down our street and see quite a few people waving from their porch as you pass by. So when it came time to design and decorate ours, I knew I wanted something pretty, unique and fun… true to AW style… and also functional and cozy since we planned to use this porch quite a bit. I remember playing around with the idea of an outdoor sofa or two chairs and a side table but nothing seemed “quirky” and fun enough for our historic beauty. Then I thought of using the double hanging rattan chair version of the single one I’d used in our last home and it seemed perfect for the space!

How I’ve Used the Serena & Lily Hanging Rattan Chair in My Designs…

As you may remember, this isn’t my first go around with using a Serena & Lily rattan swing in my home. This Serena & Lily White Rattan Hanging Chair graced the office in our former home…

And then once again in my Addison’s Wonderland event space…

Yep, I LOVE the look, the texture and the whimsy that these hanging rattan chairs can add to a space. Plus, they are surprisingly COZY! We actually changed things up a bit in the event space recently and I took this swing out to use in Winnie’s new bedroom. I plan to paint it and have John hang it in the corner of her room for a little reading nook.

And of course let’s not forget when I recently purchased the very same Serena & Lily Double Hanging Rattan Chair for Winnie’s Woodsy Wonderland…

So to answer the first question… do I still love it? The answer is YES!

Do We Actually Use Our Serena & Lily Double Hanging Rattan Chair

For the next most commonly asked question… do we actually use it? 1,000% YES! Between the fact that it made the most perfect photo op over the last four years to mine and John’s late night front porch wine dates, it has been well loved for SURE! Used and loved to the point that now, four years later, we are going to have to re-hang it because the roped have finally tightened to the point that that chair sit pretty low to the porch.

How the Serena & Lily Double Hanging Rattan Chair Has Held Up…

And finally… how has it held up? Honestly, AMAZINGLY WELL!! For a product that states “do not hang in excessive humidity or moisture”, I’d say it’s done pretty dang well in this Georgia weather! As you can see from when it was first hung to now (pictured below), the rattan has aged into a beautiful weathered gray color which I actually really love. There isn’t a single broken piece of rattan and not a single unraveling of the white woven pieces around the rattan which I think is pretty impressive with how much we’ve used the swing over the last four years. We have talked about taking it down, giving it a good washing and then clear coat sealing it so I will let y’all know if and how and when we do so. But in the meantime, here is a peek at the swing still hanging TODAY!
