A Surprise Budget Boho Chic Bedroom Makeover!
Happy Wednesday! I am currently wearing a cardigan and I think I am quite possibly the happiest girl in the world. Living in the South is pretty fabulous weather wise but come October when the high is still in the 80’s you start craving even just the slightest chill in the air. And yesterday we FINALLY got it! Today I will be sporting a cardigan once again as I head to Atlanta to be a part of the LikeToKnow. It Atlanta City Tour! Very excited to be meeting up with some of their team and their photographers at the new Atlanta he(art) wall. Here’a a peek at my Instagram post for our sweet little Georgia city on LikeToKnow. It last night… Oh and then my surprise budget boho chic bedroom makeover!

Surprise Boho Chic Bedroom Makeover…
Before I head out, I wanted to pop in super quickly to share a little surprise budget boho chic bedroom makeover I designed for a dear friend several weeks ago. Since blogging has become my full-time gig, I haven’t had the time for outside design much at all. So when a friend reached out about surprising a special someone with a quick little makeover I jumped at the chance. Although my background and experience in design has mostly been big projects that require a lot of planning and selections, I always love the opportunity to add a little beauty to a space in a super easy and fun way. And when I say easy I mean I popped into one store on one day and came out with enough to re-envision a space for right at $250!
Over the last several years Mark and I have gotten the opportunity to become close friends with the sweetest couple you have ever met. One of those women who never ever thinks about herself and always gives everything so selflessly to her little ones without a second thought. As they headed out of town for their ten year wedding anniversary after the sweetest surprise vow renewal, several of her friends put together a plan to spruce up their home. I was in charge of the surprise master bedroom re-design and they worked on cleaning and organizing some of their home. With five kiddos and several jobs, I have no idea how they even have time to think!
Much like myself, her style is very boho with a little color paired with a very easy and relaxed look. Since the budget was small and purchasing new furniture wasn’t an option, I remembered this beautiful tapestry I had purchased last year that was still sitting in a cabinet. I had planned on eventually using it as a tablecloth but decided it would be the PERFECT “headboard” since they only had a bed frame. It would be a bold pop of color and pattern and give the tall ceilings in their 1900’s home a great visual. Although this tapestry is no longer available, you can shop a great selection from the same store RIGHT HERE. The tapestry was $49 and I then made a quick HomeGoods haul for another $200 in decor from a new comforter to throw pillows, a little fur rug and a wicker basket organizer. Since most everything is from HomeGoods, I have linked some similar items below. Here is a peek at the before and after of a little budget bedroom makeover!

That is so sweet of you to decorate your friends bedroom and surprise them! What a great and creative way to make the tapestry a headboard and focal point. You are always teaching me new ways to see design. The colors of the tapestry are so pretty! I bet your friends are in love with their newly decorated bedroom.
