Happy Wednesday!!! Hope all of my wonderful reader friends are having a great week so far. Today I am soooo excited to share the complete and final reveal of the master bedroom in our cabin… otherwise known as “Our Wilderness Wonderland”. Mark and I have been knee deep in our cabin renovations since about early December and we are finally to the part that I love most… furnishings & accessories! Just about every room has switched hands from Mark on the construction side to me on the design side in the last couple of weeks. Which has been moving a little slower than I would like since we have both kind of been knee deep in quite a few other projects as well. With our flip home almost ready for sheetrock and quite a few others in the works, I guess you could basically say we are in over our heads with just about everything. LOL! Just the way we like it! Our cabin is coming along at warp speed now and I am loving every second. Although I didn’t really intend on completing the master bedroom first, it is really nice to now have a beautiful and relaxing retreat to escape to after a day of unpacking and unboxing.
For that relaxed chic vibe I wanted in the master bedroom, I partnered with one of my very favorite home stores… Serena & Lily. Serena & Lily combines that effortless breezy California style with a passion for great design. Their look is casual and coastal… relaxed yet refined. Their designs blend classic influences with modern lines; eclectic inspiration with great American style. Basically everything that I love. A classic effortless look with that punch of eclectic fun!
When it comes to creating that relaxed, effortless look there are several key elements in achieving this vibe. First, I always include a touch of natural color and texture. I chose the Carson headboard for the simple yet classic style paired with the natural strips of abaca in varying colors creating rich texture and a natural feel. Next, go for the light and bright! I chose the Cavallo Linen Duvet Cover in White for a touch of bright white that pops against the dark accent wall. It also pops against the most fabulous Gingham Sheets too! Such a fun little surprise. The linen material of the duvet color also adds to that natural relaxed feel making the room seem extra cozy and inviting. And speaking of cozy… that is definitely third on my list for the relaxed yet refined look that I love. Nothing says “cozy up in here” like a chunky wool throw and this Henley Wool Throw is seriously heavenly! And last but not least… definitely not last on MY list… a little touch of color and pattern. Just enough of a pop to pull everything together and create a unique space. And if I am being honest, my absolute favorite element of this room adds that perfect touch of pattern… the Jenner Rug. Literally so obsessed that I told Mark I wanted to get another one for the living room. Hehe. And I finished it off with the cutest Blakely Plaid Pillow Covers and Provence Lumbar Pillow. Now here’s a peek at our completed master bedroom…
