Hi friends!!!! First of all, I wanted to say THE BIGGEST thank you EVER. Truly EVER. You guys have been so incredibly wonderful and supportive and encouraging these past few months as I have gone through my divorce. I continue to get so many messages and e-mails that still to this day make me tear up and thank God for such an amazing platform during this difficult time. I so so so wish I had more time to respond to each and every one but as you could probably guess, life as a single mom and a single mom opening up a new store has been a wee bit crazy. To say the least. I am however SO incredibly thankful to have so much time with my girls and to be able to immerse myself into such a fun project. I hope to see you guys at one of my GRAND OPENINGS!
As a designer and a visual person, I’ve always been such a “product of my environment”. As I started to feel like I was really turning the corner this past month and starting to look toward my future in a truly positive light, I thought that making some mega house changes would be good for my soul! So many of you have asked if I am staying in my home and the answer is YES! I am so blessed to be able to stay in our home with my girls and I quite honestly kind of hope to stay here forever! This 1905 home is a dream come true for my historical, charming home loving soul and I could not EVER imagine saying goodbye.
Today I partnered with Walmart to do a complete design overhaul of my master bedroom! From black walls to white and everything in between! I have been so impressed with the selections at Walmart for everything from fashion to home. They have so many new lines and I love that I can easily shop online with free shipping AND the option to either have things shipped to my house or pick them up in store! In planning this re-design I knew I wanted a HUGE CHANGE. I chose Alabaster for the walls to match the existing trim color to create a light, bright palette in the space. From there, I used the bedding I got from the sale of our treehouse cabin in the mountains and a rug I had purchased a while back. I chose the cutest fringe pillows from Walmart to create the textured boho vibe I love along with a simple wood bench for the end of the bed for another layer of natural texture. From there I got two cute baskets for shoes and blankets and such that fit under the bench and beautiful white lamps that add to the white on white look I was going for in the space. Finally, I finished it off with one big pop of color by framing these amazing pillowcases I got during our travels to France this Summer. I absolutely LOVE how the room turned out!
