Winnie’s Woodsy Wonderland… Get away from it all and spend some time in the absolutely breathtaking North Georgia mountains in my newly renovated and professionally designed three bedroom cabin. Located inside the gates of one of the most prestigious North Georgia communities, the cabin is the perfect place to sit back and relax or get out and explore nature. Located just one hour outside of Atlanta, Big Canoe is the South’s premier mountain community.
THINGS TO DO EACH SEASON…
SUMMER… Of course the Summers in Big Canoe are FULL of water activities! With three lakes, two pools and a rockslide, there is lots to do each Summer. Plus, there are all kinds of places to canoe, kayak and paddleboard. We also love renting a pontoon boat and jumping off the side to swim in the gorgeous Lake Petit! The water is so clear when you are swimming that you can see your feet! There are also two playgrounds, lots of sports areas (basketball court, ball fields, etc.) and numerous bocce ball courts. Hiking is also a MUST in Big Canoe! There are lots of trails along with a full trail map that you can request at the gate. The lower and upper waterfall trails are our personal faves! If you are a golfer, there are also 27 championship holes among three 9-hole courses that are all STUNNING!
SPRING & FALL… These are my FAVORITE times of year in Big Canoe! The weather is still warm-ish but not so so hot and the leaves are either changing in the Fall or the flowers are starting to bloom in the Spring. Aside from pool time, I would say everything you can do in the Summer is even better in the Fall and Spring! The Marina is open year round with access to renting pontoon boats, kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. We love renting a pontoon and packing a lunch or a bottle of wine for a relaxing ride around the gorgeous lake. Hiking is also a fave for us with soooo many beautiful trails! They are all very doable even for kiddos! The cooler seasons are also great for bocce ball, playgrounds, fishing, golfing and playing tennis. Plus, the Fall is so wonderful for all kinds of North Georgia festivals too!
WINTER… Honestly, here in Georgia our Winters are sometimes much the same as our Spring and Fall. The weather is typically mild and most outdoor activities are just as doable in the Winter as they are Spring and Summer. Plus, who doesn’t love a good fireside snuggle in a cabin during the chilly Winter days and nights? We LOVE sitting on the screened porch and playing board games during the cooler days. Big Canoe is gorgeous year round!

Big Canoe also offers a 27-hole championship Mountain Course designed by Joe Lee, one of the finest Racquet Clubs in the Atlanta area with 10 courts to choose from, two pools, sandy beach areas, paddleboats, paddleboards, fishings, boat rentals, a 17,000 square foot fitness center, an indoor lap pool, canoes, kayaks, beach volleyball, two playgrounds, bocce ball courts, picnic areas, the most beautiful rockslide and a restaurant all within the gates of this beautiful community.
The cabin offers everything you’ll need to relax at our cabin or get out and play! Leave the worry and stresses of daily life at home and let us do the rest. We supply an abundance of towels, beach towels, sheets, extra bedding and pillows, board games, card games, a pack-and-play, highchair, charcoal grill and covered patio seating!
