Nothing like a last minute momma! Are y’all all wrapped and ready? If so, I am SO JEALOUS. I seriously thought I was doing so good back in late October by dragging out all of my Christmas decor mega early but then life and work hit and well… it’s a day before Christmas and I am still Modpodging wallpaper and hot-gluing fabric to Winnie’s barbie dreamhouse. Oops!
Needless to say if you have been watching my IG stories lately, Ab and I have been having soooo much fun renovating this KidKraft Barbie dollhouse using my Walmart+ membership several weeks ago. I searched and searched and searched for a more “updated” dollhouse and everything I loved pointed me to Pinterest and some creative momma’s own dreamhouse renovation. Seeing as though I love a good renovation, I decided to tackle this tiny little remodel myself.
Once I received the dollhouse, the very first step was to unbox and spray paint away! I chose to spray all of the interior walls with this white Rust-Oleum primer + paint spray. Oh and we also sprayed the roof of the dollhouse with Rust-Oleum Charcoal Gray spray paint…
SPRAY PAINT
While the wall pieces were drying, we used “wood” and “marble” paper sent to me for a recent collaboration for the flooring parts of the dollhouse. Perfect timing for that shipment! It turned out soooo cute!
Once the walls were dry, we wallpapered quite a few of the walls with leftover wallpaper scraps I had saved (thank goodness!) from my own home with ModPodge. We also covered the wallpaper with it as well.
MODPODGE
Next up, MORE SPRAY PAINT! Yep, we spray painted almost every single piece of furniture white and gray as well…
The next project we decided to tackle was painting the kitchen cabinets of the little plastic kitchen set I found online. I chose an Americana acrylic paint called Spa Blue and I then set it with this clear gloss spray…
ACRYLIC PAINT
So today here I sit with just one day left to go and a Barbie dreamhouse renovation about 75% complete. Between hosting my annual family Christmas party tonight here at my house and Winnie home with me all week (hence she cannot go to the store and see what I buy), it was Walmart+ to the rescue for all of my remaining project supplies and family gifts! By becoming a member of Walmart+, you can save nearly 2.5 hours per week with free delivery from your store on orders $35+ (Savings based on three store trips per week. Excludes time spent shopping online. $35 minimum order. Restrictions apply.)! And, starting today, Walmart+ is introducing W+ free shipping, no order minimum on items from Walmart.com with two-day or next-day shipping options (Excludes oversized/freight & Marketplace items)!
More Peeks at Our Progress…
