Holy Molynesss… we leave ONE WEEK FROM TODAY for California!!! EEEKKKKK!!! It so does not even seem real for so many reasons. First because well, I am getting married! I never ever ever imagined this day would come and everything that has come along with it yet it now could not feel any more destined to be. Secondly, because we have so much to do! I have my first dress fitting tonight, we still have to situate so much from catering to so many little details that I feel like we need another month to plan. However, I am so determined that this will be such a laid back, perfectly imperfect nuptial ceremony that I refuse to stress about a single detail. Sharing more about wedding plans and the girl’s dresses and right here on the blog SOON!
Today I am sharing a little garage apartment update and in particular, my MUST HAVE exterior wood stain John just stained Austin’s double doors with… THIS Marine Wood Stain & Marine Wood Sealer. Two years ago now when I was having my entire house repainted, they kept telling me over and over that my beautifully stained garage doors were past the point of repair from water damage and were in need of a good coat of PAINT. Ugh. A word I did NOT want to hear when it came to those huge, beautiful old wood doors. The warm stained wood looked so beautiful against my dark blue/gray home and there just wasn’t a color I could possibly think of that would look near as beautiful… and y’all know I love a good paint color! So Ab’s Dad mentioned trying THIS Marine Wood Stain & Marine Wood Sealer and I was so excited. It’s a marine stain so I figured if it’s good enough for a wooden boat that’s in the water 24/7, it HAS to fix my garage doors. And it DID!

So when it came time to choose a stain for the new double doors John installed in the back of Austin’s new garage apartment, it was an easy choice. I love the warm tone against the siding and we of course now know it will stand the test of time. Here’s a peek at the progress of the left side of the downstairs garage apartment (left “car slip”) that will soon be Austin’s bedroom…
