How to Clean Copper Pots…the Magic Cleaner You’ve Always Needed!

GOOOOOOODDD MORNING!!!! I am currently sitting in Britt’s kitchen eagerly waiting, with my bags packed, to get to Cali with the fam for the big weekend. T-minus 72 hours until we get these love birds married!! Current dilemma… I had the bright idea of dying my hair hot pink two weeks ago, thinking it would be washed out by now, and now it is looking like I will be rocking the Lava Girl hair for the weekend. If you have any advice on how to pull pink out of blonde hair, please help a sister out. Regardless, I am SO excited to celebrate what has been the coolest redemption story. Don’t forget to pop by Friday and hang with us on Instagram!

We have somewhat of a random blog post going up today but probably the most satisfying before and after yet. Forget all of the renovations… this one takes the cake.

A few years ago, Britt was talking about how bummed she was that the copper pots hanging over the range were stained after cooking with them… and over time they have progressively gotten more and more grummy. The steam, grease, oil, etc. have put a hurtin on them… to say the very least. We scrubbed them with everything under the sun and eventually just accepted defeat. UNTIL, I was watching an Instagram story by @gocleanco and they were going on and on about this magical cleaner that could fix anything. Scuff marks on the wall, discoloration on the stove, rust, dirt, grime, you name it and I immediately thought about these darn copper pots.

Y’all. I am in complete disbelief over this stuff. It is like it has magical powers. I don’t think I have ever seen pots this shiny in life. I want to start scrubbing everything…

The secret…

Bar Keeper’s Friend

A Few Helpful Tools…

Scouring Pads

Good Ole Fashioned Sponges

Legitimately, you just pour this stuff on the pot… take a wet sponge and rub it on the “damaged” areas… let it sit for a couple of minutes… and BOOM. Brand spankin new. I used a wire sponge on the super heavy spots but everything else just wiped off completely. It is unreal. The awesome thing is that there are so many other uses. The list is endless. You want a world without scuff marks on the wall from that massive sofa (that you knew wouldn’t fit through the hallway) you got it! A shiny range, YOURS. Sorry… it’s the little things around here.

Before…

During…

After…

Happy Wednesday!
