Yawning as I type. So excited it’s Friday! I am sitting here this Thursday evening writing this post with Addie sitting next to me studying while John is putting away our last two Christmas trees. Yep, we both kind of forgot that the boys each had one in their bedrooms. Oops!
Tomorrow morning… as you are possibly reading this… John and I are cabin bound just the two of us and I could not be more excited. It’s our first weekend sans kiddos since Addie came home from France in January. I always feel like I have to preface this by saying that I LOVE my girls OF COURSE and I wish I had them all the time. Addie and Caroline stayed with us all month so as of last weekend we are back to our normal schedule. And this is our first back to the norm, every other kidless weekend. ANYWAYS, looking forward to some R & R and hitting up a few wineries.
Today I am sharing our Portugal travels inspired fireplace tile addition! I have been daydreaming about this project since we got back from Portugal last Spring Break. I looooooved all of the beautifully tiled buildings with all of the fun colors and patterns so much that I wanted to bring it home! I searched and searched and finally found THIS TILE that I love. It’s screen-printed so I wasn’t 100% sold at first but there really just wasn’t another color/pattern combo that I loved as much. Since our brick fireplaces are historic, completing changing or painting the brick is a no-go for me but I loved the idea of adding a fun little touch similar to what I did in our bathroom.
