Marable Flip House

AW Goes Neutral-ish… The Full Reveal of Our Tone on Tone Flip House Bedroom!

Good evening! I’ve been a little MIA here on the blog for the last week or two. Still recovering from catch up work since returning back from our Summer travels while also getting ready to be gone again in October for our big AW Travel Greece Girl’s Trip! And we just might have added on an additional nine days to our travels to pop over to France and “move in” to our new home away from home. May as well right?!? 😉 We are also simultaneously planning all things Christmas so my brain is here, there and EVERYWHERE!

Today I am sharing the reveal of quite possibly one of the most neutral rooms I have ever done. Since the hallway in our historic fixer upper is oh so fun and colorful… you can SEE THAT HERE… I decided to go oh-so-NOT-colorful in this third bedroom. As I have mentioned time and time again, whether a room is super colorful or in this case, layered with neutrals, natural texture is EVERYTHING! In my opinion, the raw “hand” and warmth of wood can single-handedly take a space from overdone or too feminine to absolutely perfect.

I am often asked where I begin when designing a space and I think my answer probably varies with every single project I have done over the years. For this space, the room inspiration all began with this mural that I ADORE. I love it so much I am using it now for the second time!

From there, I wanted the perfect touch of texture and warmth to offset the whimsical mural and blush velvet curtains, so I chose the Candra Oak bed by Article and it is soooooooo beautiful! It’s the perfect warm tone and textural rattan detailing for the WOW and balance this design needed. I’ve used Article furniture several times now over the years and I have absolutely loved every single piece I’ve gotten. And I must say, this bed is 10x more beautiful in person too! The details are STUNNING! Here’s a peek back at this room before and TODAY…
