Good Afternoon! Sitting on our cozy new sunroom recliner while I write this post watching John finish up door hardware so we can finish up some filming in here! Feels so dang good to be finishing up so many little things around the house that we’ve been meaning to do for so long.
One such project has been the perfect vanity chair for my “makeup room”. I never know what to call this space. It kind of accidentally turned into my vanity room after we weren’t quite sure what to do with it post-renovations. As a reminder… our home was built in 1908 and I completely reworked the entire floor plan about ten years ago during our full gut renovation of this home. I would have never PLANNED for a “makeup room”… so not me… but what was once a Jack n’ Jill bathroom had zero purpose once we made this entire section of our home into our primary suite. The once library became our bathroom… one of the bedrooms became our bedroom and then the other adjoining bedroom we made into our closet. That left the long, narrow bathroom in the middle kind of useless… so vanity room it was!
Over the years I have thrown basically every “extra” chair around the house in here to use, never quite finding THE ONE. And then I spied this mega pricey, oh so gorgeous, pleated vanity chair online… in all the wrong colors for my space… and I just HAD to recreate it! I chose once again to work with Calico and utilize their free custom design services! I sent over several office chairs I could find that felt like the perfect base style and size for the space and they helped me choose the perfect one for a custom slipcover.
