Good morning!!! We are all over the place right now between a SUPER fun event we have going on for the Fourth this Saturday in our event space (Americana Market with vendors, coffee, puppies, free braids and tinsel and MORE from 10-2! Swing by!!!), to finishing up projects at the house, to planning for this next quarter!! HOW are we already in JULY?!?! I still have so much to share from our summer adventures as a family but I wanted to put together a little peek at one of our recent AW Travel trips! If you’re new here, we run group travel trips three times a year and they have truly become one of mine and Ab’s favorite parts of AW. This community is everything!! Ab had a few friends fly in for her wedding last year if that tells you just how cool this part of AW is!
At the beginning of June, we headed out for our EIGHTH trip to SCOTLAND with 13 couples! Scotland is one of the most whimsical, rainiest, coziest places. I will say, it requires a lot of driving and planning to see the country but it is truly one of the dreamiest spots! We had the BEST time with this crew and cannot wait for the next one!
Day One… Overnight in Edinburgh
Edinburgh City Walking Tour ( a peek at the famous Diagon Alley!!!) & Edinburgh Castle Tour
Day Two… Overnight in Inverness
(we technically had a free day in Edinburgh for day two which I highly recommend so that you can spend time adventuring around!)
The Historic Village of Dunkeld, Highland Folk Museum (SOO cool for Outlander fans!!), Cairngorms National Park Drive, Dalwhinnie Distillery Tour & Tasting, Culloden Battlefield Visit and Clava Cairns (Super cool burial grounds!)
Day Three… Overnight in Portree
A Drive Past Lochness (the home of the famous Lochness Monster), Eilean Donan Castle, Tour of Isle of Skye
Day Four… Overnight in Oban
Ferry ‘Over the Sea from Skye’, Lunch and Exploration of Mallaig, Glenfinnan Viaduct and Ben Nevis Sightseeing, and Glencoe Valley
Day Five… Overnight in Edinburgh
St Conan’s Kirk Visit, Kilchurn Castle, Lunch and Exploration in Callander, ANNNDD Some Highland Cow Cuddles!!! We Ended with Our Farewell Dinner at the 1820 Rooftop Bar & Restaurant!
