As you may know, Addison’s Wonderland actually began as a children’s bedding company. My dream world for little girl’s rooms (and boys!) come to life in my bedding, drapery, pillow and even headboard designs. Although the photography was beautiful and the images looked heavenly, the prep work on photo shoot day was none too dreamy. Awful, dreadful and quite miserable to be dang honest. Besides the obvious bed set-ups, if you consider propping up a mattress on concrete blocks a “set-up”, last minute accessorizing and pillow fluffing… there was the ironing. And ironing. And more ironing. Duvet covers, bedskirts, tons of pillows, drapery, window shades… the goes on. And to be quite honest, most of the bedding was completed night before and morning of, all piled on top of one another with wrinkles GALORE. Have you ever tried ironing a huge queen sized ruffled duvet cover? Let’s just say that those were days that I discovered the steamer… #sponsored
I still remember the day of my first photo shoot. I literally set up two ironing boards in the hallway outside Addison’s bedroom and I would drape everything across both of them to iron out the gazillion and one wrinkles. I distinctly remember Mark assisting and then quickly avoiding my rush and frustration crazed self. I somehow made it through with what seemed like hours upon hours of ironing, ironing and re-ironing. And then our seamstress mentioned using a steamer. Well holy cow, why didn’t I think of that?!? I will just blame it on the fact that Addison was two at the time which meant I had literally slept seven hours. Total. In two years.
By my second photo shoot, I was steaming everything in sight. I cannot even explain the amazingness of hanging curtains, making beds and fluffing beds and THEN steaming everything. Life changing. Marriage changing ;-). That was the day that I completely ditched our iron. Or maybe drop kicked it into the trash can would more accurately describe that experience. And that huge and annoying ironing board? Yep, that too!
Although that steamer lasted many a ruffled pillow and window shade, I ended up losing it in our move and was on the hunt for a new one. And then just last week, I discovered the CONAIR Turbo ExtremeSteam® Handheld Fabric Steamer…
The CONAIR Turbo ExtremeSteam® Handheld Fabric Steamer is the most powerful handheld steamer on the market! It is easier, faster, and more convenient to use than an iron. It features a turbo button for hotter, more powerful steam for the fastest results. The steamer gives garments a professional fresh-pressed look with the aluminum plate and built-in creaser for perfect pleats and folds! Unlike dry cleaning, steaming is gentle on fabrics. There are no heavy chemicals used because it only requires water! There is even a built in stand for in-use and storage. That is one feature I especially love about this particular model! And the craziest part? It even kills bed bugs, dust-mites, and refreshes upholstery, curtains, mattresses, and more!
Available Nationwide at Target!
If something can make steaming a 90″ x 90″ ruffled bedskirt easy, just imagine what it can do with your daily clothing wrinkles! I literally plug it in, hold something up while on the hanger and steam those wrinkles away in an instant!
So here’s a peek at how and where I use our CONAIR Turbo ExtremeSteam® Handheld Fabric Steamer…

STEAMING TIPS!
I tend to steam at an angle holding the fabric out to catch any gathered and ruffled areas…
For smaller, stubborn items and for creasing, I use the NEW built-in creaser. Perfect for ties, straps, and ribbons! And yes, even those stubborn dress ties 😉
