Happy Memorial Day!!! Coming to you this Monday on a Saturday afternoon! LOL. John and I will be cabin-ing it on Monday so I am writing this post a few days early. Actually on the heels of Saturday’s Summer fashion haul post! Once again, sitting here in the dusty garage watching John finish wiring. We love all this kind of thing way way too much. You have to pull both of us away from working on projects which is a good thing I guess. Blessed to do what I love most with who I love most!
Today I am sharing the reveal of the new trim color in our main bathroom in a new, fun kind of lights on/lights off way. I typically shoot with the lights off in a lower shutter speed because the coloring in a space from the wall color to the furnishings tends to look truer to real life. Plus, of course you lose the glare and the halos and such. But, I also love the lights on version for the warm glow and the “real life/lived in” kind of look.
As I have been chatting about a lot here lately, I decided to give my home a little refresh now that my “new family” will be calling my 1908 historic beauty HOME in three short weeks. Some rooms will be bigger changes than others but overall, nothing too crazy renovation-wise aside from the garage apartment, back porch and yard. Mostly just paint, decor, lighting and accessories! For our bathroom, I decided to give it a little warmth with a color I used in our new cabin project that I LOVE! It’s a warm gray by Farrow and Ball called Lamp Room Gray and it is BEAUTIFUL! I had all of the molding and the inside of the bathroom door painted this color as “step one” to my bathroom “redo”. I also had the ceiling painted Alabaster since it was a gray-blue before. I almost always use Semi-Gloss on trim and doors and then flat on walls. Anything but flat paint on walls shows every single imperfection and it drives me nuts!!! Next up will be new lighting, new drapery, rugs and even new tile on the fireplace! Here’s a peek at the little update…
