The Full Reveal of Our White Cabin Kitchen w/ Light Mint Green Cabinets!

Happy May!!! Seriously though. Where in the heck did almost half of 2018 go?!? My girls have less than three weeks left of school and then we leave for our Summer adventure four days later. I literally just cannot even think about what all we have to accomplish in these next 24 days. I know lots of you mommies out there know how it is. Recitals and class parties and Field Day and all of those end of year activities. Add on a little Summer preparation and work responsibilities and then this girl needs a margarita. Or two. On our personal agenda we have the completion and rental stocking of both of our current rental renovation projects: Our Wilderness Wonderland and Our Garage Apartment. We’ve also had a few little “cannot mention” things going on plus we are at a fun and exciting point with one of our flip homes while our second one is about to be officially underway. We truly love it though. As much as I chat about busyness I also constantly remind myself of all of our blessings. We have worked our booties off since college to be at this point in our lives where we can finally do what we truly love. And it ROCKS.

Tonight (Sunday) I am actually staying up at our cabin solo. I have a crap ton to get done so Mark took the girlies home this afternoon so I could stay up here alone and really focus on work for the next two days. I always feel like peace and quiet sounds so fabulous until about an hour after they all leave and then I miss them like craziness. Although I am actually not fully alone. I just peeked at the front door to make sure it was locked and I saw a huge animal right in front of our driveway. It didn’t take me too long to realize it was a huge black bear! I Facetimed the kiddos and followed it around the side of our house and through the back yard via our back deck. So crazy!

Today I am starting the full reveal of the completion of “Our Wilderness Wonderland“. I cannot even believe I get to write the word COMPLETION. It literally feels like yesterday when we began this renovation. Three short months ago we got started and today it is complete and furnished and accessorized. Several more things to purchase for renters as well as some paperwork to fill out and it will be hitting the rental market! Make sure and sign up to “Follow My Blog” and you could be the first to rent it out!

My full tour begins right when you walk into the front door with our kitchen. Kitchens are always a bit of a challenge since 98% of the space is “hard furnishings”… as in all cabinets and countertops and tile rather than sofas and rugs and pillows. Decisions in kitchens and bathrooms always feel more permanent so that’s always a little scary. For this space, I started with the flooring and chose Shaw Floors’ Courtside Tile in Anthracite. I love the dark gray color plus the larger tile size which makes the space feel much larger and more open. The variance in the gray gives it such a natural, sophisticated look that I LOVE! From there, I chose the cabinet color. I use so much blue in my design work that I decided to design a home around the color green to change things up! I have this new obsession with designing around a super classic black/white theme so I found this super cute star tile and decided it would make such a fun and whimsical focal point as backsplash behind the stove. We actually had extra subway tile from our kitchen so I used that on either side of the star tile which worked out perfectly! We then created this gorgeous vent hood from pallet wood and had our white quartz countertops installed! To finish off the look I found this fun, colorful rug from Lavender Fields to play up the whimsy factor a little more plus add my signature pop of color. I have found sooo many cute rugs and home decor from Lavender Fields over the last several years. They are one of my faves! So here’s a peek at our completed cabin kitchen…

Yep, HER name is ADDISON and MY name is BRITTANY 😉 Thirteen “short” years ago I started “Addison’s Wonderland” in honor of my then three year old Addison out of a “need” and desire to be creative as a new stay at home mom. That three year old will be SIXTEEN next week and I cannot even believe how much everything in our lives has changed. Here’s to the most creative, intelligent, witty and beautiful daughter I could’ve imagined. I love you ADDISON! 💗💗💗

Let our historic home renovation project reveals B Let our historic home renovation project reveals BEGIN! Yep, we finally finished our two year gut renovation project and are starting things off with the reveal of the very first room when you walk in the front door… the formal living ❤️ #Sponsor #MyAlbanyPark For this room, I knew I wanted those dark and moody vibes with something beautiful to pop against the dark walls so these Park Swivel Chairs from @albanyparkhome were absolute perfection! They exceeded my expectations in every way from delivery and unboxing to final styling. Once they arrived, this room came together so quickly! We decided to do minimal furnishings for the space, so the swivel feature is perfect for mornings when you want to cozy up by the fire with a cup of coffee!
For us, 2023 has been the year of transforming our For us, 2023 has been the year of transforming our outdoor spaces ♥️ And this turned out to be one of my very favorites! A back porch we literally never ever ever used made oh so cozy with our new @liveouter outdoor furniture. Outdoor furniture that actually LASTS 🙌🏻 So over replacing everything every year or so after it sits outside for a few seasons. Outer has the absolute coziest and most beautiful outdoor furniture that LASTS... years and years! Their cushions are comfy and supportive... enough to relax on for hours, but made with fabrics that don’t fade, mold, or stain. And one of the very very best and most genius parts? There is always a clean, dry seat ready for you, thanks to their built-in OuterShell cover, which protects cushions from fading, moisture, and debris. Plus, all Outer Sofas are modular—meaning reconfiguring your space is always a breeze. I chose their All-Weather Wicker but they also have timeless Teak and modern Aluminum and it’s sooooo beautiful! Linked Outer in my bio and I have a code for y’all! Use code: OUTERBRITTANY for 5% off!

First things first… we got a new @kingofchristmas tree and it is so BEAUTIFUL!
