Good afternoon! Coming to y’all today between packing, washing all of the sheets in our house and trying to fit in a breakfast/lunch of hummus and crackers. Yep, we are down to one week before we head out for just shy of six weeks so there’s quite the literal and figurative laundry list of things to do! Not to mention the afternoon appointment Addie and I have of me shoving contacts into her eyeballs. LOL. She went for an eye appointment a couple of months ago and it fells on her Dad’s day so they just did glasses and she was too scared to try contacts. Me however, I wore them for decades so I know if I can just get it in once she will realize it doesn’t hurt and all will be smooth sailing from there! Wish me luck ;)
Today I am sharing details and pictures of all of the fun self watering planters we got for our cabin last week. As you may have seen on IG stories, we got… I mean John got… quite a few new plants for our home away from but the problem is that we aren’t there much! I got two table planters and two hanging planters that are all self watering and should (fingers crossed) hopefully do the trick at least between Airbnb rental stays when our cleaning lady can water them. Details and links below!
Hanging Planter / Terracotta Pot With Wick / Terracotta Pot With Glass Cup
Terracotta Pot With Wick
Planter comes with a short cotton rope/wick that absorbs the water beneath and disperses it amongst the roots above for an all-in-one self-contained design.
Hanging Planter
The recessed design structure between the bottom of each hanging planter and the tray prevents plant roots from dying due to overwatering and serves as a water reservoir to provide water when plants need it. There is a hole between the bottom of each hanging planter and the tray, which is both a watering hole and a ventilation hole. It not only controls root aeration, ensures plant root breathing and promotes plant growth. Watering can also be done through this watering hole.
Terracotta Pot With Glass Cup
Terracotta material is porous in nature, even without the drainage hole, the water will slowly be absorbed by the terracotta pot and then by potting soil, which then provide proper moisture for the plants’ root and water supply. Just fill the glass container with water to cover 2/5 of the pot, and it will absorb proper amount of water whenever needed. Easily last roughly a week.
