You guys!!! I am sooooo excited about today’s post! It is a little bit of everything that I love. My girls, my home and a whole lot of fun and color! I am partnering with The Home Depot for the very first time today on this post and I am a wee bit excited about that! For the last thirteen years, Mark and I have become regulars at every The Home Depot within a thirty mile radius of our home and our cabin community. We have done projects ranging from making herb boxes to building huge pergolas to renovating entire homes with loads and loads of materials from The Home Depot.
Everyone knows that The Home Depot is THE PLACE to find everything from lumber to lighting and tile… BUT did you know that it is also a destination for shopping a wide variety of furniture and home decor?!? Yep, recent news to me too! As a longtime The Home Depot shopper, I loved finding out that I could sit on my cozy blue velvet sectional, watch Peaky Blinders and shop home decor on HomeDepot.com! Hehe no really though. I kind of consider myself a professional online shopper. LOL. With two kids, several businesses, a blog and a passion for traveling, being able to sit down in the evenings and order everything that I need for upcoming projects is literally LIFE. I honestly don’t know how I would function without it. I mean I guess I would figure it out. But ya know. 😉
For today’s post, The Home Depot put a little fire under me to FINALLY tackle some wall art! I always get asked on IG stories about why our walls are mostly blank and well basically I just haven’t had time to think about it! That is honestly one reason I love blogging and getting the opportunity to partner with great companies. It gives me the time and the motivation to finish up our forever home. I have no desire to re-do everything ten million times so when I do something I want to LOVE IT! And today’s project… I LOVE!!!
As you may have noticed over the last year or so, we haven’t done much with our upstairs playroom. I have maybe blogged it twice but both times it was pretty much empty. Earlier this year I had Mark bring the basement sectional up for the girls and I added a rug and two chairs I had snagged before we moved in. It was kind of a last minute mish mash but I love how it all turned out. Except the big blank wall. I knew I wanted to do something with it but I just wasn’t quite sure what. I had decided when I was designing this home that I wanted things to be meaningful. Rather than filling my cart at random home stores with artwork (which don’t get me wrong I do LOVE), I wanted to fill my walls in this home with our family and our travels. Addison has been taking art classes at our local Art Guild for several years now so she has a huge stash of adorable artwork. And then there’s Winnie… always drawing self portraits. LOL! I also snagged some super cute artwork in France over the Summer so I decided working with The Home Depot was the perfect chance to finally add some color and love to our playroom walls. They have pages and pages of beautiful and unique frames (SHOP THEIR FRAMES HERE) at great prices that were all delivered right to my doorstep! So without further chatter, here’s a peek at our playroom before and then TODAY!
