Our new Jonathan Louis blush sectional has arrived!!! Excited would be the understatement of the CENTURY! I usually start my posts with a tidbit about what’s going on in our lives but this sectional is so fabulous it deserves center stage. I have to admit that having a historic home is my excuse for every design decision EVER in Our Historic Wonderland. Not that I really need one because Mark is really great about not having an opinion on interior design. I have trained him well ;-). No really though he trusts me enough now that I have full reign on all things home decor which makes designing our home way easier. Hint hint hubbies out there… just let her pick it out. Happy Wife = Happy Life. Hehe okay kidding but seriously though ordering a blush sofa is a little bit up there on the list of things he actually may not approve of. But he did and I LOVE IT!
SO when designing our dream home, I’ve had four things in mind… color, pattern, comfort and vintage style. One thing I have always loved about older homes (early 1900’s-ish) is their fearless use of color and pattern. Wallpaper was everywhere and colored sofas were all the rage. These days I feel like white and gray is all the rage and I am over here like BLAAAHHHHH… So I rebel and pay homage to our 1905 home but adding all of the color and all of the pattern. Because as y’all know, that is my thing.
If you have been following me for a while, you may remember that I teamed up with Jonathan Louis Furniture in our last home with the navy velvet sectional in our basement. We loved it SO much that when we moved, it was literally one of only six pieces we kept and it now has a place in our new family room. You can read more about that HERE. Mark seriously calls it the coziest sofa on Earth and every single person who sits on it says the same. We’ve had it for three years now, have used it daily and it still looks BRAND NEW!
So when it came time for another sectional in our front living room, I knew exactly where I was going to look first… Jonathan Louis Furniture. With sooo many sofas and sectionals to choose from as well as hundreds of fabric choices, I was confident I would find the exact style, size and color I was looking for. Jonathan Louis started with a dream in 1985 to create a fine furniture line that would inspire people to use colors, styles and fabrics to transform their rooms. Today, Jonathan Louis is a family-owned and operated business headquartered in Los Angeles, California that’s an internationally known fashion-forward brand for home expression. They take pride in offering artfully designed furniture that reflects today’s lifestyle and delivers exceptional value with high quality construction that is durable and long-lasting. Brand offers beautiful sectionals, sofas, swivel chairs, armchairs, other accent chairs, storage benches, storage and cocktail ottomans, headboards and more. The best part is that their products are available at sooo many local retailers like Macy’s and other furniture stores nationwide.

I ordered three blush swatches and fell in LOVE with Gypsy Blush. After playing around with our current sofa and a measuring tape, we determined that the Remy sectional with two chaise ends was the best style and fit for the space. It arrived last week and the delivery crew unpacked it, attached the legs and set it up exactly where I wanted it! It is soooo gorgeous and cozy and we have LOVED it so far! I still have a ways to go in finishing up and styling our dining and living spaces but I just had to go ahead and share it! Also quick side note… photographs tend to “flatten” a space and in this case make it look like way tighter in the space than it actually is. There is a good 2′ behind the sofa before the column and here it looks like it is right up against it. Anyways, just an FYI! So without further ado, here’s a look at our new sectional!!!

As always…I love it! Oh to convince my husband a blush sofa would be ok in our home! A girl can dream, and thankfully, live vicariously through your design choices. ☺️ It’s perfection!

So pretty! It matches the dining bench a bit too. Is it resistant to stains?

So SO good! We have a 1902 farmhouse in VA that we have “restored” and I’m still decorating. I have 2 rooms left that have me completely stumped on what to do! Your blog is so inspiring and full of great ideas!

Stop it! This is amazing! I begged my husband for a pink sofa and he said no. Why me?! Haha. Your room is absolutely stunning.

Brittany,
I am contemplating buying a pink/blush sofa and wondered how it stands up to everyday life – food and drink stains and fur baby claws. Can you share your experience so far? By the way, your blog is sooo inspiring! A splash of rainbow in a blog world of gray and white!
Thanks,
Mary

Oh my goodness, we are looking at a Jonathan Louis sectional for our family room and I came to Pinterest to “research” because I am worried about a brand that’s new to us. I was so surprised – and happy – to see that you like their furniture because I’ve been following your blog for a few years now! YAY!

Hi Addison,
I too am a Jonathan Louis super fan! My sectional has lasted over 10 years and still as comfy as ever. We’re looking for a new sectional and trying to figure out fabric. We have the Bella pattern/fabric which is velvet and part of the “just live” family (touted durable, stain resistant) but don’t love any of their colors. I found a color in the Gypsy pattern that you have but it’s not part of the “just live” family. How is your Gypsy fabric holding up? Easy to clean and stain resistant in your opinion? So many choices!
Would love any input you have.
Thanks!
Colleen
