Two more sleeps and we will be West Coast bound for the Summer! Holy moly it came so fast! I am 150% mentally ready and about 33% physically ready. As in one out of three suitcases are packed. Grrrrr… Today I am popping in to share a new dining room update! As I mentioned several posts ago, we have done a ton around the house lately so I will be popping in lots with some little and some HUGE updates!
So here’s a peek back at my last dining room update…
“BEFORE”
First things first, our dining room table… as you may have noticed in some of my IG stories, our fabulously gorgeous dining room table had some damage to the very top of it. I purchased it right when we moved in from our local Anthro outlet… Yes, I just said Anthropologie and outlet in the same sentence. I am blessed with the only one in the country a short two hour drive from our home. I chatted all about it and shared one of my visits right here… “My Happy Place“. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it!
Next let’s chat about our new bench… I had this vision for a ruffled bench on the long side of our table and have literally been on a bench fabric hunt for like ever. I have seriously screenshot and saved probably close to fifty fabrics that I love and then I saw this crazy fabulous pink one based on Alice in Wonderland and I just HAD to have it. It’s the Rifle Fabric Wonderland Cameos in Rose found HERE. It was obsessed at first sight. So I purchased this simple bench HERE and then had a local seamstress make me a slip-on ruffled cover. Which can easily be changed out! Because y’all know I LOVE to change things out! I also want to have one made in this denim fabric for a more simple look as well.
FINALLY, let’s chat about our gorgeous new artwork!!! I have had quite a few amazingly talented artists reach out to me about featuring their work in our home WHICH is so sweet and wonderful and I seriously feel so honored by that. One talented artist in particular stood out to me and I fell in LOVE with her work! Rylie Caldwell creates the most STUNNING and unique abstract art pieces and I literally couldn’t stop scrolling through her IG feed. I seriously wanted them all! The piece I finally decided on was Rolled & Tumbled in 30″ x 40″ size for our dining room. I love how it resembled the wallpaper in our dining room yet POPPED against it! This is one of those instances where I totally broke my own design rules and put two similar patterns together. Something about it just worked for me! SO here’s a peek at our “slowly but surely coming together” dining room!
