Ever After Wonderland

Our Cabin Loft Bedroom Reveal… Floral Quilts & Velvet Bed Panels!

Good morning! Sitting here FINALLYYYYYY editing and loading pictures of our newly completed cabin. My gosh it feels so good to be DONE! Like I’ve said lots on IG stories, this cabin took us way way longer to complete for several reasons. First off, we did lots more and much bigger projects this time around. From a fully tiled kitchen (walls and floor) to more wallpaper and fully renovated bathrooms, we really got our hands dirty on this one! Literally. The cement tile floor in the kitchen was a doozy! Plus, this time we didn’t have near the amount of time to devote to the renovations that we did on “Winnie’s Woodsy Wonderland”. We started and completed that cabin during Summer break and during Covid. The kiddos were out of school and we would stay up there for weeks at a time. With this cabin, “Ever After Wonderland”, we had two days every other week so it seriously felt as though as soon as we’d get up there and get all set up, it was time to turn around and come home. However, we finally did it! She’s complete and we are IN LOVE! Can’t wait to spend our first project-less weekend up there this weekend with the kiddos. Which will also be John’s birthday weekend! P.S. We will be keeping, using and renting out the cabin on Airbnb. I will let you know as soon as the listing is live right here on the blog.

Today’s reveal is the left side of the upstairs open loft space. I was initially planning to do two twin beds on each side of the loft space but ended up deciding to do two twin beds on one side for a sleeping space and then a little sitting nook on the other side for a cozy, game room feel. Otherwise known as a place to send the kiddos off to when we want to watch tv or relax for a bit!

This little nook design began with trying to figure out the best way to find headboards to fit the slanted attic ceiling. I wanted something “cutesy” but finding something that would be low enough was a struggle bus. John and I had chatted it out and came up with this idea of creating an upholstered wall with two twin beds against it but initially I’d thought about having something custom made or us even making it ourselves. But then I remembered that Vant Panels could be an option! I had used their velvet panels in our last cabin and LOVED THEM! I chose to do them in Olive Moss velvet and then found these gorgeous floral quilts that looked so beautiful against the olive moss velvet color. From there, I finished it all out with fun finds from Amazon, Target and World Market that are all detailed below. Here’s a peek at the space before and TODAY! All finished up!

Addison's Wonderland began in 2011 as everything that I dreamed of for my daughter's room. I wanted to create a dreamy wonderland for her full of colors, patterns and precious details. Once her room was complete, Addison's Wonderland was born.
