Ummm… how is it already Spring Break?!? Like FOR. REAL. This year has gone by so fast that I literally feel like we should still be in the thick of Winter. Bring on the sunless tanner!!! Abigail (my assistant) and I are Miami bound for a little four day girl’s weekend next weekend and it could not possibly get here soon enough! Abigail and I have been working our booties off lately getting everything designed, ordered and ready for my new brick and mortar store and are in much need of a serious break before things officially get crazy moving everything into space and setting it all up. My basement, garage and living room are jam packed full of boxes and lighting and wallpaper and everything in between. It’s a beautiful mess but I am ready to get it out of here!!!
Today I am sharing a space that I have been wanting to organize and share for soooooo long now. It was a rather intimidating mess so I avoided it for as long as humanely possible. Basically until the floor was completely covered and we had to either lean in to grab something or step between everything. Embarrassingly enough to admit. So one day Abigail and I finally devoted a day to clearing it out, cleaning it up and even making it pretty :-).
One of the things I love most about interior design is focusing on the tiniest little details. I love the element of surprise in design and opening a closet or cabinet to find attention to design detail has always made me so happy. For our pantry, I knew I wanted to add a little pop of color and pattern to the space but I didn’t want to have to paint or wallpaper the entire inside. Wallpapering between every shelf just seemed an almost impossible task to take on as a quick little DIY project so I chose removable decals. I chose the prettiest pink and white peony decals for Winter’s closet from Rocky Mountain Decals and I absolutely LOVED how they turned out so I decided to use their Indigo Roses Wall Decals in the pantry. We have lots of white space at the top plus I wanted some little pops here and through throughout the shelving so I thought these would be perfect to coordinate with our blue kitchen cabinets and pantry doors. Here is a peek at the space “BEFORE” and all organized TODAY!
