The floors are beautiful and have a rustic feel, which would compliment the wood beams in the living room nicely. I agree, add a clear coat and let the character add to your design.
I have a question on your windows. I don’t understand why the upper part of the windows are darked out. Is that just the cover for when they painted outside?
I love how big and spacious all the rooms are! The tall ceiling, to die for!
It’s because the top part of our windows inside and out have the grids on them which we painted black. They’ll go back and scrape off the glass inside each little panel leaving the black sashes
Where does the door lead on the second floor off the girls living room/near the stair? PS please do a clear coat on those existing hardwoods! From one interior designer to another.
I think you’re talking about a storage closet. It’s a large long closet that was originally the master bedroom closet. And YES, after seeing the floors in person this morning I thinking that’s what I’m doing for sure!!! xoxo
Everything looks really great and I look forward to seeing your plans come to life.
One comment on what you were speaking about in the upstairs video for you to consider. It looks like the Juliet balcony is the only alternative exit to your daughter’s room. While I know you need her to be secure from falling, she also needs an alternative fire exit if she can’t get out through the main door. Maybe one of your readers has a good idea for how to manage that. She’s a lucky girl as I’m sure the room will be gorgeous!
Awe thank you!!!! Yes, great point! There is also a window and we do have emergency ladder kits she could use to land on the back porch from that window. Thanks so much! XOXO
I noticed you are using hardwood in your basement. I currently have carpet in my lower level (which is a walk-out) and want to use hardwood, but my husband keeps telling me we can’t use hardwood because of possible moisture issues or concrete cracks in the floor. I currently have Shaw hardwood floors on my other two levels and would love to continue the look in the lower level. Can you tell me what you are doing in order to be able to do that?
