Just when you thought I couldn’t infuse another ounce of color and pattern into our home, our upstairs hallway finally got a little lovin’! As I mentioned in “Our Two Story Living Room Reveal”, the element of surprise in design is one of my favorite parts of any project. I sometimes think the smallest nooks, hallways and accent walls can pack the most punch and even work to pull an entire home together. Adding colors, prints or wallpapers seen elsewhere in the home into these areas creates cohesion and harmony throughout a space.
Although our upstairs hallway isn’t necessarily small, it is a randomly shaped area with lots of doorways and foot traffic. It can also be seen from most every main living space in our home. I’ve taken my dear time on this area, adding pops of fun here and there along the way. First was paint…
BEFORE (after the entire inside was painted)
Then came new flooring…
BEFORE (after new flooring was installed)
Next up was the wallpaper…

THE PROCESS
Although the wallpaper and silhouettes made huge splashes of fun in the hallway, it still seemed a bit baren for me. On a journey for inspiration I found this AMAZING rug at Lavender Fields Shop…
Dash and Albert Bohemian Wool Woven Rug
And the re-design was on! I absolutely LOVED the colorful print and I felt that the geometric design and smaller repeat was the perfect print contrast to the wallpaper. Lavender Fields Shop is one of my first stops when I am on the hunt for the perfect rug! As I’ve said before, I think that rugs are one of the best ways to add some color and pattern to your home. Especially if you’re afraid to take the color plunge but want a fun pop of something whimsical and unique! Next, I found this awesome table on sale at HomeGoods and these super fun Artwork pieces. So check out our hallway today!…
