Laundry Room Decor & Organization Ideas!
Oh laundry… Oh how I despise thee… Hehe no really though, who loves laundry? Not many I would assume and I am most definitely not a fan. In our last home, our laundry room was a tiny, dark dungeon that I never wanted to step foot inside. This time around when I designed “Our Historic Wonderland“, I was DETERMINED to make it a space I wouldn’t mind working in several hours, or maybe 50+, per week. You may remember several weeks ago I shared the before/after reveal of the space. Here’s a peek back…

Although it was finished and beautiful once we moved in, it wasn’t exactly organized. Nor decorated. I have never really had the “chance” to decorate a laundry room so I was kind of excited to make it cute! I teamed up with World Market, one of my favorite home decor spots, to make it pretty and to make it work for our family. Or maybe just me. I think everyone else is allergic to our laundry room and to our hampers. Hmmm….
First, I popped over to World Market’s Laundry Room section to make all of my laundry room necessities organized and cute. Before I chat in detail about that, let’s take a peek at the room TODAY…

First, I found the cutest Seagrass Baskets to store unmatched socks and random things I find in pockets. I think my four year old could fill one of these up by herself from the crayons and little figurines I find in her sweater pockets. Next, I found this Vintage Glass Dispenser to hold our laundry detergent! It looks so cute on the shelf and is super functional for dispensing detergent too. And finally, I used this Copper Basket to hold extra hand towels for our powder room that has zero storage space…
Next up, I wanted to accessorize the open shelf we have above our washer/dryer and hanging rack. First, I found this cute vintage “Self-Service Laundry” sign to play on our historic home vibe and add a fun little touch to the room. Next I added a third Seagrass Basket to flank the sign and add that rough texture element to the shelf. And finally, I used two glass Apothecary Vases for the left side of the shelf. One is filled with extra Wool Dryer Balls which I have just recently discovered and am totally addicted to! And the second is filled with these colorful and yummy smelling WildFlower Soap Petals. They added some fun, bright color AND a fabulous smell to the room too! Plus, they won’t die. I am terrible at keeping flowers alive. Terrible.
And finally, I chose this fun little Fringed Tote Basket to place on the washing machine for items that need to go to the Dry Cleaners. I always discover them as I am throwing everything into the wash so it was a perfect spot for it! And yes, that blanket is in there because I spilt red wine on it last week. Oops!
And here’s a full room tour of our fabulously organized laundry room!
