Happy Monday! Today is THE DAY! Wallpaper is going up on the walls and the ceiling in my very last minute and very rushed guest bedroom makeover. In true Brittany fashion, I decided last week to undo the current design, order new wallpaper and GET TO WORK! If you’ve been following along on stories, you’ve seen the process and progress thus far. If not, let me summarize… so far I have cleared out the room, taken down the grasscloth on the ceiling (not fun AT ALL… and it took FOREVER) and cut in a new trim color. I only cut in thus far because I didn’t have time to paint it all and cutting in before the wallpaper is WAAAAAY easier than after. And today… as we speak… the wallpaper is going up!
Although I have installed a LOT of wallpaper over the years, sometimes I do hire it out and this was one of those times. Between a busy work schedule, a trip out of town this week and a tight turn around for the room makeover… it definitely seemed like a smart idea. If you would like more information on installing wallpaper though, I do have a full video tutorial Ab and I shot last year… LINKED HERE!
Now let’s chat design! For this space, I wanted to create a warm, super colorful and pattern filled cottage feel. Like you are curled up in an English cottage! To create this look, I chose this Seed Scattering Wallpaper (stone & navy) for the walls and this Waratah Wallpaper (blush) for the ceiling. I went for a POP and not so much a matchy-matchy look as you can see.

In selecting trim color, I also wanted a POP but a more subtle one in the same cool tones as the wallpaper for the walls. Here are the colors I sampled…
Left to Right…
Farrow & Ball Green Smoke, Farrow & Ball Oval Room Blue, SW Halcyon Green, Farrow & Ball Berrington Blue, Farrow & Ball Oval Room Blue @75% (PLUS a drop of deep gold!)
Next I sampled a few…
Top to Bottom…
SW Halcyon Green, Farrow & Ball Oval Room Blue,, Farrow & Ball Oval Room Blue @75% (PLUS a drop of deep gold!)
Here’s a peek with the wallpapers…
Now follow along on stories… RIGHT HERE… to see it all come together!
XOXO, Brittany Palazzo
