A Mess (I mean Work) in Progress…

Welcome to my mess work in progress.  Once upon a time, about six years and 11 months ago, I was an organized neat freak.  Wait a second.  That also happens to be exactly how old my sweet Addison is right now.  I know all of my mommy fans know this all too well.  If I’d have seen the inside of my car right now seven years ago, I’d have thought, clearly my husband took over this vehicle.  Okay kidding kidding.  But nonetheless, I’ve deemed keeping my home and car clean these days to be about as easy as brushing your teeth while eating oreos.  Can I get an amen?!?

As you’ve seen in my posts, we’ve pretty much “finished” all of the rooms in our new home.  We remodeled it from top to bottom in the last ten months and although there are lots of projects still in my head and on my honey do list, I will call every room complete.  Wow that word is strangely difficult for me to write.  As a designer, I think that is almost impossible to do.  AND since my husband admits to be an avid AW blog stalker, I will say that no room of mine will ever be “finished”.  Lol.  Anyways, every room is complete except for one.  And this room has been driving me ca-razy for the last ten months.  It is my office.  It is the first room on the right when you enter our home and right now it is a huge eyesore.  It’s filled with boxes of who knows what and random shelving that I am hoping will eventually be a library wall.

Here is the room BEFORE…

I will keep my opinions about these color choices to myself and let you decide…

Love your light fixtures! I get hung up on them all being the same finish, fo you just mix them all up? I keep thinking the kitchen light fixtures need to match the cabinet knobs and so forth…how do you decide? We are building and i want the island lightening you have. I love it!

Thank you so so much! I did a gold dusted silver finish on my breakfast room and island lighting to tie together all of our gold lighting with the silver cabinet hardware. Hope that helps! Thank you!

I LOVE your choices in color and wish I could decide on a color for my kitchen! This is my first house where I have gone with the cool color scheme and I am stumped! Love living at your home for inspiration. Your bold choices are awesome!

As I always say, the only journeys and experiences As I always say, the only journeys and experiences I can… and do… share are that of my own. And today it’s last week’s journey of my explant, lift and recovery. As someone who was “born” with big boobs, had implants to fill what I’d lost to weight loss and nursing to now having explanted to a much smaller size, I’ve been happy with every step along the way. It’s all been what I had or felt I needed or wanted at each stage of life and I’m not one to ever look back and have regrets. It’s just that at this stage of life, I decided the next step for me was to shed some chest. And kind of a lot of it. From a size 32G to a yet to be fully determined 32B-C! To be super honest, the pondering and deciding was by the far the longest and hardest part. With no direct reason for doing so (thankfully)… rather a combination of them from possible health issues 🤞🏻 associated with my implants to the usual back/shoulder pain to just a growing desire to get them out, I’ve felt a bit indecisive and very nervous. But last week I finally did it and I’m so happy I did! Women have so many worries and pressures and insecurities so if this has been on your pondering list as well, I’m just here to tell you that it wasn’t that bad. Any body change takes some getting used to but not gonna lie, shedding that top heavy feeling has been rather fabulous. And the cute little tops and bras I can now wear feel like icing on the cake! So from your always raw and honest IG bestie, thank y’all so much for following along and for all of the love and well wishes on stories. Means the WORLD 🫶🏻
Forget drenching your hands with straight acetone… and the hour and a half SNS process… try this and you’ll never go back! Yep, it’s the “old school” tips method but with your own nails. Takes so much less time and although still not exactly CLEAN, it’s way better than an acetone hand bath every two weeks. Plus, they’re actually much smoother too!

Where did you find the drapery hardware in your ba Where did you find the drapery hardware in your bathroom?... what about your bedroom?... living room? It’s all @kirsch and it’s all STUNNING! Scale is everything in design and sometimes the biggest “misses” are in the details. With a huge assortment of difficult to find, thick rods, substantial finials and beautiful rings, as you can see something as “simple” as drapery hardware can absolutely MAKE a space.
