Come and Take A Peek Inside!

So, it’s been a little while since I took you inside… You see, our dream home (“Our Historic Wonderland”) was basically a pile, well maybe a stack in the shape of walls, of 2 x 4’s. Original 2 x 4’s from 1906 that were actually 2″ x 4″ before they started making them 1.5″ x 3.5″ which is just weird. Oh and then it also had some green siding and a roof. Other than that, the rest was up to us to figure out. Which we knew. And actually loved. Mark calls it… Our “new build” confined to a footprint and a lot. Because if we had to make THOSE decisions too Lord knows how long THAT would take!

So we have spent the last four months re-doing every single thing. From the floor plan to the electrical, plumbing, HVAC… every single bit of it has been replaced. Except the word “replaced” would mean there was something there to begin with. And there wasn’t. Which once again we have loved because we have been able to truly make it our own. Let’s just say that we changed every single room around except the foyer and the living room. The library is now a master bathroom, the master bedroom is now a playroom, the breakfast room is now a mud room… you get the idea…

So let’s take a look back at where it all began…

See what I mean?!? We have come a LOOONG way since then and my childlike excitement grows every single day that I check in on the progress. Mark just texted me that the living room beams were installed this morning so I am dying to get over there and take a peek! Seriously thank you all so much for your love, support and advice on this project. It’s a huge labor of love and we just love taking you all on this journey with us. Here’s a peek at where we were on the construction as of late last week! I would say more but I am off to pick my kiddos up from school. And yes, you will see some shiplap. Excited to make it my own and can’t wait to share my ideas!
