Her Dream Room…

Moving right along on my #projecthayesdreamcabin house tour, comes my absolute favorite room so far in our cabin.  Our cabin is so cute and charming (i.e. small LOL!), it proves to be very difficult to get great wide angle shots in the rooms so you will all just have to come visit and see it for yourself!  Gosh I would LOVE to have a big ole’ Addison’s Wonderland blog party at our cabin.  How fun would that be?!?  Anyways, our daughters’ bedroom is turning out to be so dreamy that I had to share it next…

BEFORE

As you can see, it was not so dreamy and inviting when we first closed on the home.  It had sat for quite some time, we are thinking years and years, and gathered a fair amount of dust.  When I say fair I mean the entire house smelled like a really bad antique store.  The one and only thing we kept from the home are these amazing dressers.  There were a total of 4 dressers and 4 nightstands and I am absolutely smitten with them.  Although I hope to re-finish some or all of them eventually, I do love them as they are for now.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

The main level living room and bedrooms saw a little less intensive construction than the remainder of the home.  For this room, we cleaned, painted and made custom built-in bunk beds for the room.  At our previous home, we had surprised Addison with a finished loft room above her playroom for her 4th birthday.  It was her all-time favorite spot and ever since we moved, she has begged for another loft.  Since that wish may be a good ways off for now, my husband and several guys built custom bunk beds for the girls.  Addie calls the top bunk her loft and adores her new little hiding spot.  For the bunks, he finished them out in cedar and we stained them Weathered Grey by Rustoleom.

“AFTER”

For the walls and ceilings, I chose a beautiful white paint called Alabaster by Sherwin Williams and for the trim, I wanted a warm gray so I chose Tweed Coat by Benjamin Moore.  Once the painting and bunks were complete, it was time to furnish the room!  I found this adorable coral nightstand at a local antique store near our home and it was the perfect fit for the space beside the bunks.  It has become the girl’s toy box and I also like that it blocks off the exterior door.  For the bedding, I wanted something bright white to stand out against the gray bunks.  I fell in love with these ruffled comforters from Target and they also came with shams.  Finally, the rug was an impulse buy from my fave, fave, favorite store Anthropologie!  I purchased it without really knowing which room it would go in, but I LOVE it in their room!  Here’s the grand tour (products linked below)…

As I always say, the only journeys and experiences As I always say, the only journeys and experiences I can… and do… share are that of my own. And today it’s last week’s journey of my explant, lift and recovery. As someone who was “born” with big boobs, had implants to fill what I’d lost to weight loss and nursing to now having explanted to a much smaller size, I’ve been happy with every step along the way. It’s all been what I had or felt I needed or wanted at each stage of life and I’m not one to ever look back and have regrets. It’s just that at this stage of life, I decided the next step for me was to shed some chest. And kind of a lot of it. From a size 32G to a yet to be fully determined 32B-C! To be super honest, the pondering and deciding was by the far the longest and hardest part. With no direct reason for doing so (thankfully)… rather a combination of them from possible health issues 🤞🏻 associated with my implants to the usual back/shoulder pain to just a growing desire to get them out, I’ve felt a bit indecisive and very nervous. But last week I finally did it and I’m so happy I did! Women have so many worries and pressures and insecurities so if this has been on your pondering list as well, I’m just here to tell you that it wasn’t that bad. Any body change takes some getting used to but not gonna lie, shedding that top heavy feeling has been rather fabulous. And the cute little tops and bras I can now wear feel like icing on the cake! So from your always raw and honest IG bestie, thank y’all so much for following along and for all of the love and well wishes on stories. Means the WORLD 🫶🏻
Forget drenching your hands with straight acetone… and the hour and a half SNS process… try this and you’ll never go back! Yep, it’s the “old school” tips method but with your own nails. Takes so much less time and although still not exactly CLEAN, it’s way better than an acetone hand bath every two weeks. Plus, they’re actually much smoother too!
