As promised, I am BACK!!! Last week I shared the reveal of our new art room and today I am sharing all the deets on those adorable desks and chairs! Are they not the cutest EVER?!? But first, let’s rewind a bit… As I mentioned then, I have been spending a wee bit too much time lately bugging the heck out of my sister checking on her and stealing my new baby niece for snuggles. Just waiting for her to change my name in her phone to “Crazy Stalker- Do Not Answer” ;-). Hehe no, but I am totally in love. And then the other half of my time lately has been spent organizing the chaos that was our entire upstairs. It is so bad y’all. After I stepped on a Lego for the millionth time and I was DONE. And when a mommy is done, you better watch out!

Haha okay I am not cray cray I promise BUT in that painful moment I decided that it was time to get my kids organized. If you have ever stepped on a tiny little Lego you totally know what I mean. Addie has been obsessed with those little Lego kits for a couple of years now and they have slowly taken over our home. Quite literally. Plus, add on her love for art and crafts and writing and drawing and sewing and kids got some STUFF! If you remember waaaaay back when I was reinventing our floorplan, the master suite upstairs became the official kid zone. And what was once a master suite media room (weird) became my girl’s art/craft/homework room. It’s the cutest little nook wedged between Addison’s bedroom and their living/playroom. You can read more about the transformation of the space HERE and then the most recent reveal HERE.

So it’s been sitting in that “recent reveal” state for several months now but it was finally time to get it moving! But before I share the room update, let me first share a little furniture shopping secret with you. If there is one thing I get asked a million and one times, it is where I find everything in my home… where are my go-to places to find fun, unique, colorful furnishings. Over the years I have probably scouted out the entire state of Georgia. And the entire internet. And today I am sharing my best kept little secret… Nadeau Furniture.

Several years ago a friend of mine introduced me to this little gem of a furniture store called Nadeau and it was love at first sight. As you well know, I love to create beautiful spaces. Spaces that are fun and fresh and unique. I love to reinvent myself with every room reveal and to create designs that you have never ever seen before. But sometimes that gets super difficult when the selections start all looking the same. And that is exactly why I LOVE Nadeau Furniture! They specialize in solid wood and metal furnishings and have styles that cover a broad spectrum from traditional to boho to farmhouse to asian inspired. Their inventory is constantly changing AND it’s all at wholesale prices! And the best part? Well, besides the super cost effective part… they have SOOO many fun COLORS! I literally think I stopped and said WOW the first time I ever walked into the door…

AMAZING, huh?!? Yep, you can thank me later 😉 When I shop Nadeau Furniture, I shop their Atlanta location but they have a total of 34 LOCATIONS from Atlanta to Portland to Memphis! Anyone want to take a road trip with me in a U-Haul and visit them all? Hehe how fun would that be?!? I have had quite a few Nadeau pieces in our last two homes but of course we no longer have them since we sold those homes furnished. You may remember our sofa table and the cute little mustard colored butler’s pantry cabinet in our last home? Yep, both Nadeau!

So when it came time to finally get some desks for the girl’s art room, I knew Mark and I needed to make our way to Nadeau! Well, only after I searched online for three days and popped into all of the local chain stores. I knew I wanted something colorful and something unique. Both super hard to come by but I had a feeling Nadeau would have just what I was looking for! I mean, they are called “Furniture With A Soul!”! And literally right when I walked into the door I saw exactly what I was looking for. The cutest little powder blue desk and even the most darling little white chair to go with it! I ended up purchasing one blue desk and one gray one since they didn’t have two blue as well as two white chairs. I had someone local paint the second desk to match the blue and it turned out absolutely PERFECT! So without further chatter, check out their sweet little art room TODAY!!!

XOXO, Brittany Hayes
