Happy Weekend!!! Holy moly I cannot even believe today’s post. I just wrote “my new clothing line…” on a blog title. Last year one of my favorite children’s clothing companies, Adorable Essentials, contacted me about designing my very first clothing line for this Summer. As you may know, I started my love for design years and years, okay decades, ago with a major in fashion design. Of course that all changed and I graduated with a degree in interior design BUT I have always had a dream of designing clothing. And since my two girls are my very favorite things on Earth, designing children’s clothing seemed like pretty much the best thing EVER.
When I started designing this line, I wanted to achieve several things: to create a preppy and classic line that is suitable for little ones AND tweens that coordinates but doesn’t “match”. You know… kind of my “matches but doesn’t match” signature style. I wanted to create a line that a girl would love whether she is 4 or 12. A line that is modest yet stylish. A line with pieces that could pair with items already in her closet yet pieces that look “different” than what I have already purchased for them in years past. Okay, I am rambling. So now that you’ve had a peek inside my clothing design brain… here is your first look at Addison’s Wonderland’s very first clothing line!!!
